While trying to do a UID, eBay kept wanting to download files to my computer. I finally got it to work, but what a hassle! No viruses, also no spyware. Anyone else ever notice this or did I just hit a glitch in the system?

Unpaid Item Dispute. I always thought the abbreviation too close to IUD. LOL!!

Me too. Just had eBay wanting to download a .dll file when I was doing a completed search. Ignored and proceeded but happened twice in a row. eBay must be up to something again.

It's not a bug, it's a feature! (common refrain from Cobol programmers)

Probably some eBay 'enhancement' designed to make you eventually upgrade your Windows based PC and software. If they make it slow enough, and repeat the message enough times maybe you'll want to upgrade to Vista? (Or it could just be sloppy programming?)

p.s. How to get your book on the best seller list - have Al Qaeda endorse it! William Blum's "Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower" was ranked 209,000 on Amazon.com's sales list before Osama bin Laden mentioned it in an audiotape released on Thursday. By Friday, the book was No. 40 on the Amazon.com list.

Ya, right. LOL! It's definitely an eBay file. Has the word eBay in the file. You won't get eBay to admit to wanting to download anything to your computer, though.

No, not using eBay's toolbar.

Shouldn't that be "ebay fubar".
