I have 2 un paid items that are in the dispute area. I have a gut level feeling neither will be completed with money and product. If they are both marked "eligible" by ebay on the UID page am I free to relist and receive a refund? Sorry dumb question but I have never been this far into this process before. Usually ebay writes the letter they send the money... incidentally both are new buyers one with zero feedback one with 37 and 2 new fresh negs.

I believe that is up to you. Ebay's UID notice states that you as the seller is no longer obligated to sell the item to them.
My TOS states that if I don't have payment within 7 days, I have the option to relist or sell to the next high bidder.

If you decide to close the dispute, be careful which option you choose. eBay has it set up so that you don't get the option to relist or you FVF back unless you check the right box.

From the ebay help center:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/unpaid-item.html

How does the free relist policy work?

Normally, Insertion Fees are non-refundable. However, if your listing ends without a winning buyer or ends with an Unpaid Item (UPI), you may qualify for a credit by relisting the item. If the item sells the second time, eBay will refund the Insertion Fee for relisting.

You must use the official Relist feature in order to receive the Insertion Fee credit. Copying and pasting the content of the original listing into a brand new listing, will not enable eBay to track that you are relisting the item and will prevent you from receiving a credit.
To relist an item:

1.

Sign in to eBay.
2.

Click the My eBay button at the top of the page.
3.

Under the All Selling column, click the “Unsold” link.
4.

Click the "Relist" link.

You can also access the “Relist” link from the item page for the ended listing.

General requirements for the credit

* You must relist the item within 90 days of the closing date of the original listing.
* Only the first relisting of an item is eligible. Subsequent relistings of the same item do not qualify.
* Both the original listing and the relisting must be in Online Auction or Fixed Price format (not Store Inventory format or Real Estate Advertisement).
* Both the original listing and the relisting must be single-quantity (not Multiple Item or "Dutch".
* The starting price you set for the relisted item must not be greater than that of the original listing.
* The relisted item must not have a reserve price if the original listing didn't have one. If it did, the reserve price you set for the relisted item must not be greater than that of the original listing.
* The relisted item must end with a winning buyer. If the item doesn't sell the second time, the Insertion Fee is not refunded.
* Qualifying Unpaid Items that are relisted and close successfully will receive a standard relist credit automatically if the item is relisted and sells. Read more on the Unpaid Item Process.

If your original listing resulted in an Unpaid Item

Also make sure that you filed an Unpaid Item dispute for the original listing and requested a full Final Value Fee credit for that listing. This credit must be posted to your account before you can receive the Insertion Fee credit.

This offer only applies to the Insertion Fee and not other fees for options such as Bold, Highlight, etc. After your relisted item is sold, you will be charged the applicable Final Value Fee.

Sort of. Ebay's glitchy system has restrictions on this too. First, your listing must have been an original listing. Not a relist or listing from a closed auction (They do not tell you this). Then you need to relist from the link they give you at the end of the UPB page. They state you can do it from almost anywhere, but it does not recognize relists from any where else as being eligible.

Lastly, the only thing you are eligible for in a possible listing fee refund. Your extras such at gallery or features are not refunded.

It's funny that you mentioned watch the box. I had a two that I closed today. One, from France never had a clue what she was doing and I just got tired of dealing with her. Got my FVF ok.

On the second the guy had a perfect record but no feedback tho for the past 2 months, never paid, never replied. So time comes for me to get my FVF back and I PRESSED THE WRONG DANG BUTTON.

Ebay thinks we settled the deal: No FVF for me no bad boy mark for him.

Stupid me. So, yes! watch what button you click on.

Well I don't feel to stupid now. I made the same mistake last week and hit the wrong button. They need to add a confirmation page to verify your choice. I doubt it would ever happen though since by me clicking the wrong button I didn't get a FVF credit and they got to pocket the money. I will just have to be more carefull next time.

They say your memory's the second thing to go, I just can't remember what the first thing is.

Had my first NPB this month too. From France, whats up with that??! I was dumb enough to wait 21 days for the check to arrive, even though I had not emails from the buyer after they asked for an invoice but that is no biggie.

Anyway, thanks to everyone talking about that little "feature" on the UPI page, I was very careful when navigating the site and am currently waiting out my 7 days.

Thanks All.
