Ran across this guy's auctions last night. He has 2 different sizes listed. 50 box's for $9.99 with shipping included. Not a bad price for security flap box's.

Plus is you buy 3 lots of 50 you get one lot of 50 free, 6 lots get 2 free, etc...

Thanks for the info Mike,
I bought 50 boxes I would buy more but I just bought a few hundred last week, I like using the right size box because I save on the shipping when I do that.
I use priority boxes a lot also but they don't have enough good sizes for what I need.
Thanks for the heads up!!!!!

I know the feeling. I stock about 60 different size boxs from 6x8x4 all the way up to Gaylord pallet boxs that are 48x40x36. I to just bought a bunch of box's a couple of weeks ago and two of the sizes I bought were about the same size as these. Wish I had found this guy before that. He must have gotten them free or dirt cheap because I don't see how he can ship them and make any money on them for the price he's selling them for.

Mike,
I'm 95% positive he's scamming these from a free source, perhaps UPS itself.
Here's how it works: The seller creates a UPS (or whatever) account for you -- there's NO verification for this -- and immediately orders supplies.
Because you're right: There's no way he could make money, especially with the buy 3 lots, get 1 free deal, if he had to buy these boxes and pay to ship.
I've seen a lot of the label auctions with FREE shipping. Those labels typically come from FedEx or UPS via the same mechanism.

clasic - Nope, no X Box pictures here
I agree fLuff. He is probably scamming these from a free source. However looking at the pictures of the box's they are not any of the carriers. None of them use security flap box's and these are plain box's with no print. He could be getting them from where he works, it's hard to tell. He could have just been given them for free.
I myself have received tens of thousands of dollars of stuff for free over the years from business's, corporations and individual's. Just have to know the right people, be in the right place at the right time and not be affraid to ask. The largest school bus dealer on the east coast moved a little over a year ago to a new location. I knew the parts manager very well and asked what they were doing with alot of there stuff. He said most everything was going in the dumpster. They must have thrown out close to $100,000 worth of brand new parts, equipment, tools, shelving, etc... He said they didn't have the time to move it to their new location and that it was just a tax write off. Needless to say, being the pack rat that I am I hooked up my International tractor to a borrowed trailer and I ended up getting 4 53 foot trailers full. The best part was during the 2 day's it took me to transport it out of there building occasionally a employee would wander out into the warehouse and ask "what's up", "did you buy all this?". My answer was "Nope, got it all for free". I just ended up getting the dear in the headlights look and alot of reply's like "Damn, I wish I had known. I wanted that widget.". One of my favorite saying's and this just proves the point is "It never hurt's to ask.".
Unfortunately I haven't found any truck loads of free box's yet. But I'm hoping to.

clasic - I try to "hit the jackpot" every month or so. I know lot's of people in the heavy truck and bus repair industry and I ask anytime I see something setting around for any length of time. What's the worst they can say, no. I'll take a few "no's" as long as I get a "sure you can have it" every once and a while.

Mike, I love ya to pieces, but you're as stubborn as the day is long. Goes with the chromosomes, I guess.
Your seller is offering two sizes of boxes. They are Featured Auctions.
Here are more auctions for the same boxes, different sellers:
Seller #2
---------
5663666268
5663665788
Seller #3
---------
5662476761
5662917543
Note that for all three sellers, these are the ONLY auctions they have up.
Seller #4
---------
5662116319
5662116379
He at least has two other non-box auctions up.
Notice how they're only offered in lots of 50?
They're scamming them from a shipping service. Believe it.

Well, I am willing to take a chance on a few hundred of these - The original seller referenced here has pretty good feedback, many on the same lot mentioned. It will be interesting to see how it all sorts out.

fLuff - As long as I get what's in the picture and there cheap personally I couldn't care where he get's them. They could be unused, unmarked urine sample box's for all I care.
Also his price on the larger ones is cheaper than any of the other sellers. Plus, he has a feedback rating of 99.8%, over a 1200 positives and no neg's in the last year so I feel confident with the purchase. Checked some of his feedbacks and they were from buyers of the box's and they were happy with them.
Only thing is I need to find out where the heck they are getting them so I can get them for free to.

Most likely a manufacturer discontinued a particular product line that these boxes were originally designed to ship. Two or 3 plants may have ended up with a large inventory of these things. They could have consigned them to an auction, donated them to a charity who resold them in bulk at a penny on the dollar, or possibly the plant manager and the seller were friends and the seller, as Mike says, just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

I'm betting those are UPS boxes..they have them on their site and they are free if you have an account. Here is the info if you have an account:
STOCK #010195218 or STOCK #010195217. They all come 50/box.
These are the free boxes. They are called security boxes, and these are the only ones they have. The #010195218 are 9x6x3 and #010195217 are 13x10x3.
I believe they will sign you up for a UPS account, or they already got them and will charge you for shipping. We've been using them for our UPS stuff for a few years now.

I guess no more free UPS boxes then, once they wise up. Here's the deal though, while it is against the rules to use a priority mail box (free) from the USPS to ship another class of mail, it would seem to me there is no such restriction even if the boxes had UPS stamped all over them!

Well I just spent 10 minutes on the UPS site and I can't find these box's. I signed in and checked in there shipping supply section and every box I see is plastered with UPS logo's and none of them have the above mentioned stock numbers. Where am I missing these? I only ever use UPS for Standard to Canada service, everything else I ship goes either USPS or DHL so I don't spend much time on there site and have never ordered free supplies from them before.

Call 1-800-PICK-UPS
Dial option 7, then 0 to talk to the operator.
Tell her you want to order STOCK #010195218 or STOCK #010195217. They all come 50/box.

Ahhhhhhh, so it's one of those secrets they don't want to let the general UPS user know about. They are probably geared for the corporation that ships thousands of packages through UPS a week.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the box's I bought on ebay arrived today. I bought 3 and got one lot of 50 free of the 12.5 x 10 x 3 box's. They came packaged in a new Uline 30x21x20 275lb test box via UPS Ground.
Now I am really confused. The package size makes it a oversize 2 and on top of that it weigh's 86 pounds. I only paid $29.97 for the 200 box's, shipping was FREE. How in the hell did he ship a O2 size box at 86 pounds via Ground, buy the box from uline to ship them in and the packing peanuts that were in the box, list them on ebay and pay a final value fee, pay the paypal transaction fee and make any money even if he got the 200 box's free???
Another question. It has been a few years since I shipped using UPS so I am not up to speed with their services. Are there different kinds of UPS Ground service? The shipping label on the box is a hand filled in one, but what is strange the label reads UPS Ground SDP. What the heck is SDP, some secrect discount shipping service?
All in all, I'm tickled pink. High quality box's, packaged well at only 6.673 cents each.

I haven't received mine yet, I hope they get here soon and I'm not out the money! I can't imagine how he made any money with shipping weight of 86 pounds (or how I will lug it into the house when it comes!).

pmelcher - I wouldn't worry yet. I to was starting to worry but they arrived today. By the way the size box that he shipped them in was 36 x 21 x 20 (I had 30 inch listed above and that is wrong).
I think they were shipped using a non day guarenteed day delivery ground service and not the normal day guarenteed delivery method that we are all familiar with. I know DHL has two types of Ground service. The non day guarenteed delivery is alot cheaper than day guarenteed and usually takes a couple of day's longer than regular Ground for delivery.
I still don't see how he didn't go in the hole though.

How do you get free shipping labels at UPS if you are signed up and really don't use UPS that much? Don't they look at you account to see if you use them or not for shipping? I have a UPS account and associated it with Paypal for shipping but wondered if they wouldn't catch you somehow?
Just wondering as I have used UPS only about 4 times with my account and getting labels from them in quantity would they not know?

It looks like a great deal to me.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
