Hello,
One of my very few auctions on Ebay just got canceled by Ebay. Funds returned.
Lot was Iran, 1902 stamps, which were heavily forged in 1904 or so. The original are worth about 2-500 each. If they are forgeries they are worth about 20 each (I had four)
My lot said only "Sold as forgeries" (Which I believe they are) and listed for cheap.
Of course this has nothing to do with "counterfeiting postage" etc etc.
A couple of years ago I sold some which are highly sought after, with no problem.
Was I turned in? Did my description trigger cancellation?
I am not going to contest it with Ebay but will send off for authinacation and if just one comes back OK Ebay did me a favor.

Most likely someone turned you in and the Ebay employee who reviewed the auction saw the word "forgeries" and equated forged stamps with counterfit money and concluded it must be illegal. Did they give you any kind of reason in the email they sent notifying you of the ended auction?

From eBay's list of prohibited items:
Counterfeit Currency and Stamps
Most countries strictly prohibit the sale of counterfeit currency and stamps as well as equipment designed to make these illegal products. Therefore, these types of items may not be listed on eBay.
Replica coins may be listed as long as they are clearly marked "reproduction," "replica," or "copy". See Additional Information.
All forged stamps, facsimiles, and reproductions may be listed but need to be clearly and indelibly marked as such on either the front or back of the stamp. See “Additional Information” for more details.
Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

I sold a few full sheets of Iranian stamps a few months ago on ebay that were counterfeit. I marked the back of each stamp by hand with a gel ink pen in red with the word "forged" and since this meets the ebay rule about clearly marked reverse the auctions went through with no problems. I even made quite a bit of money on them. Brought about $80 more a sheet than I thought they would.
If your stamps are counterfeit and were not marked that's probably why they got the axe. Some reported you.
