Check out www.kassoy.com for different types of scales. Ohaus is a good manufacturer. The type of scale you get will depend on whether you want/need something you can carry in your pocket, or a home use scale. Also, how precise you need the measurment to be. Most scales will read out to the tenth of a gram or pennyweight. Some read out to the hundreth. If you need something to weigh diamonds or other stones you need a diamond scale. These are the most precise, and can be used for gold also, but usually only up to about 1 oz. Others will round up or down to the nearest gram or pennyweight. The site I'm advising will have all the options, and then you can buy from them, or buy a used/new one on Ebay.

I'm learning a lot from the Brit for whom I'm selling "stuff" these days. I currently have two Ohaus weight/balance sets up for sale. I don't think they'd help you with your precision weighing needs--but I'm so surprised to learn yet more new things by selling for others!

I've seen bigger ones, but sadly most were smelted down back when gold was worth $32 an ounce (1960s). Several relatives used to go gold mining as a hobby...
