Hopefully by now you have all heard about the upcoming launch of eBay Express. eBay Express will be a new shopping experience designed to meet the needs of today’s busiest shoppers and we’re extremely excited about the enthusiasm its upcoming launch has generated within the eBay community.
Based on the feedback that we have already received from the Collectibles Community, we know that many of you are excited as well but may have a few questions on how this will work within the category- specifically in regards to Item Condition.
We’ve stated in earlier messages that the Item Condition setting will be a listing requirement for items to appear on eBay Express and this is true for most, but not all, of the categories on eBay.com at the time of launch. We realize that there are some Collectibles sub-categories where an item condition may not fit the standard New, Used or Refurbished values, yet we still want those items to appear on eBay Express. At the time of launch, we will not require sellers to select Item Condition in the following categories but we may come back to you at a later time to solicit feedback for Item Condition in these areas. The sub-categories where Item Condition will not be required at launch are:
Animation Art, Characters
Autographs
Comics
Cultures & Ethnicities
Militaria
Photographic Images
Postcards & Paper
Religions & Spirituality
In other Collectibles areas where we feel Item Condition makes sense we launched Item Specifics with the condition ‘New’ earlier this month. The sub-categories included are:
Animals
Arcade, Jukeboxes & Pinball
Banks, Registers & Vending
Barware
Breweriana
Casino
Clocks
Decorative Collectibles
Disneyana
Fantasy, Mythical & Magic
Furniture, Appliances & Fans
Holiday, Seasonal
Knives, Swords & Blades
Pens & Writing Instruments
Pez, Keychains & Promo Glasses
Pinbacks, Nodders & Lunchboxes
Radio, Phonograph, TV & Phone
Science Fiction
Tobacciana
Trading Cards
In these areas Item Condition is required and we would encourage you to start using in your listings.
I will be monitoring this thread regularly, so feel free to post with any questions regarding Collectibles in eBay Express. For further details regarding Item Condition in eBay Express, please click here.

Hmm, item condition on Animals??? Can't say I have ever seen a New, Used or Refurbished dog or cat. New, ok, maybe just born. Refurbished, I don't think I would want a refurbished cat or dog, would you (well maybe Ralphie). Used, I'm not even going to open my mouth.

Thank you for your reply. As we consider Stamps its own category on eBay, I have only provided the information for the Collectibles (Militaria, Comics, Disneyana etc.) area here.
We will be launching Stamps for Express and I believe that the Stamps Category Manager will be posting a separate communication on the boards with the details on condition etc. Unfortunately, he is traveling for work this week but will be posting as soon as he can get to his computer early next week for sure!!!
If you have any general questions regarding Express, please post them here and I will do my best to respond.
Thanks again and have a great day!
Kathryn
