would you accept a money order from Canada from a zero feedback customer. They just purchased 2 items and said they would send a money order.

Specify that it has to be an INTERNATIONAL Postal money order (the pink one) made payable in U.S. dollars. Otherwise you will return anything else.

Canadian Money Orders are pretty solid depending on whether they are Postal or Bank issued. Also the Mounties have a special online fraud unit with a good success (i.e. conviction) rate. The pink Intl Postal MOs in USD can be cashed at USPS outlets, while make usre that Bank issued MOs are denominated in USD and drawn on a US bank so there are no further fees. Pretty straightforward really

I forgot to mention, if they are 0 feedback newbies, they might not be aware of duties. You might want to mention that they will be responsible for all import duties, customs fees, taxes, bribes, and graft that Canadian Customs may assess at that end. Wait till after they send payment though, before you tell them about that. Don't want to scare them away at this point.

thanks for great response. This person registered today and has already purchase 12 items. I got her to agree to mutual release from the transactions.

This is for agitprop.
Thanx for your link to your site.
What a find!!
Who knew? Not me.
Imagine actually knowing what I make and spend on eBay..
Thank you again.
Why did you want to cancel her transaction? I know some have had problems with Canada and the delivery system, but I love my Canadian customers. They've been great repeat buyers and always pay me promptly. Postal money orders are safe 99.99% of the time. You could have requested a postal money order, taken it to the post office and they would have told you if it was good or not and cashed it for you. Then, you could have shipped the item.

within a few hrs of regustering on eBay
as I posted yesterday-
This person registered today and has already purchase 12 items. I got her to agree to mutual release from the transactions.
Today, she is up to 33 buy-it-now and just
register yesterday
That is WHY I was concern .I ship all over the world almost daily. However I am a bit leary when a person with O feedback, registers on March 13 , 2006, just cautious.

12 wouldn't bother me so much, but 33? Yes, I might be a bit leary at that one. Although I have a newbie buy a ton of stuff from me (over 20 items) that were out of the country (France). She starting her own little business and some of what I used to sell was not available to her. Ended up discounting her purchases and still made a tidy sum. Hmmm, wonder how she ever made out.

OK, enough for Canada. I for one, already take Paypal & M.O. From Canada. But here's a broader question that probably has already gotten a lot of treatment in the past:
Now that BIDPAY is gone, how do you accept payment from riskier places, such as Eastern Europe?
I used to use BIDPAY, but that's no longer an option. I'm revising my templates today, and just noticed I still have:
"I'm happy to ship anywhere, but only accept international payments through BIDPAY.COM, please don't ask, no exceptions."
No wonder my international sales have dropped off!

Only problem I see if they come back is that ebay has banned BidPay in their listing's. Not only that, even if they do come back and ebay allow's them. Do you really want to take the chance and end up going through all PITA stuff we had to go through the last time they went belly up if they do it again. I will not be accepting BidPay even if they do come back. I have never had a problem with Paypal chargebacks before from international bidders (knocking on wood violently) so I'll just stick with them.

StoneCold ..I am NO fool! I know a few, but do not address their character.
It is weird to me why people have to be so crude and impolite--- guess just their nature.
Anyway , the saga of the two auctions went particularly well.
The bidder was very nice and understood completely.
I relisted the two auctions and within five minutes both sold and were paid for instantly.
I knew the items would sell so there was absolutely no reason to accept what I considered to be risky.
