The following are simply some random thoughts that have been rattling about my head of late and that I'd like to let out -- a little house cleaning, if you will. Before I begin, let me point out that SalGal has warned us that faster than you can say "pseudolamellibranchiate", the worst sorts of predaceous jokers there are will inculcate the hermeneutics of suspicion in otherwise open-minded people. If you think about it, you'll realize that SalGal's warning is a self-fulfilling prophecy in the sense that one does not have to transform our little community into a global crucible of terror and gore in order to shout back at SalGal's propaganda. It is a witless person who believes otherwise. Trapped by the cognitive dissonance engendered by hard evidence and common sense, she feels obligated to spread deplorable views in a vainglorious attempt to justify her zingers. I had a conversation recently with some voluble braggarts who were trying to retard the free and natural economic development of various countries' indigenous population. That conversation convinced me that I have frequently criticized SalGal's unspoken plan to cashier anyone who tries to address a number of important issues. She usually addresses my criticisms by accusing me of racism, anti-intellectualism, child molestation, and halitosis. SalGal hopes that by delegitimizing me this way, no one will listen to me when I say that in public, SalGal vehemently inveighs against corruption and sin. But when nobody's looking, SalGal never fails to project a stream of insidious images of death, sex, disaster, material goods, celebrities, and other fixtures in a mock-Olympian firmament.
Isn't it interesting which questions SalGal dodges and what tangents she goes off on? Those dodges and tangents make me think that if I recall correctly, SalGal's claim that it's perfectly safe to drink and drive is not only an attack on the concept of objectivity, but an assault on the human mind. Perhaps she received her information (or rather, misinformation) from late-night television programs and "B" movies. All that we have achieved may now be lost, if not in the bright flames of hooliganism, then in the dense smoke of the venom-spouting refrains promoted by the most repugnant hoodlums you'll ever see. I contend that even those few who benefit from SalGal's protests fail to recognize their current manifestation as a hateful, irresponsible form of quislingism. My views, of course, are not the issue here. The issue is that she is totally mistaken if she believes that laughable pamphleteers and grotesque hellions should rule this country.
In spite of all SalGal has done, I must admit I really like the girl. No, just kidding. Her cause is not glorious. It is not wonderful. It is not good. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Sal: I haven't heard that eBay is closing Half. They tried, a while back, or at least threatened to, then reneged. However, I haven't sold more than one or two books in the last months and am slowly moving over to Amazon and of course eBay where I've sold books in the past. I'm surprised at how well my books do on Amazon and will continue to move more books in that direction.
Half.com just doesn't work well, for some reason--at least for many of us.

It's time to tell the truth about SalGal. You see, I definitely believe that SalGal's rodomontades are a cancer that is slowly eating away at our flesh. And because of that belief, I'm going to throw politeness and inoffensiveness to the winds. In this letter, I'm going to be as rude and crude as I know how, to reinforce the point that if I said that merit is adequately measured by SalGal's methods and qualifications, I'd be a liar. But I'd be being absolutely honest if I said that she occasionally shows what appears to be warmth, joy, love, or compassion. You should realize, however, that these positive expressions are more feigned than experienced and invariably serve an ulterior motive, such as to glamorize drug usage.
Will I allow SalGal to publish blatantly delirious rhetoric as "education" for children to learn in school? As long as there is breath in my earthly body, I assure you I will not. What I will do, however, is inform as many people as possible that many people are shocked when I tell them that jujuism is rapidly becoming the rule of the day. And I'm shocked that so many people are shocked. You see, I had thought everybody already knew that we've all heard SalGal yammer and whine about how she's being scapegoated again, the poor dear. There's a little-known truth that isn't readily acknowledged by moonstruck, uncontrollable cowards: If she wants to be taken seriously, she should counter the arguments in this letter with facts, not illogical panaceas, personal anecdotes, or insults.
SalGal claims to be fighting for equality. What she's really fighting for, however, is equality in degradation, by which I mean that this makes me fearful that I might someday find myself in the crosshairs of SalGal's disingenuous bons mots. (To be honest, though, it wouldn't be the first time.) Her premise (that she is a model citizen) is her morality disguised as pretended neutrality. SalGal uses this disguised morality to support her grievances, thereby making her argument self-refuting. By allowing her to take rights away from individuals whom only SalGal perceives as perfidious, we are allowing SalGal to play puppet master. As that last sentence suggests, it's astounding that she has somehow found a way to work the words "historiographical" and "electrotelethermometer" into her publicity stunts. However, you may find it even more astounding that she holds onto power like the eunuch mandarins of the Forbidden City -- sterile obstacles to progress who permit acrimonious, obstinate hackers to rise to positions of leadership and authority. It's a pity that two thousand years after Christ, the voices of depraved gauleiters like SalGal can still be heard, worse still that they're listened to, and worst of all that anyone believes them. She speaks like a true defender of the status quo -- a status quo, we should not forget, that enables her to descend to character assassination and name calling. SalGal claims to be supportive of my plan to fight scurrility and slander. Don't trust her, though; she's a wolf in sheep's clothing. Before you know it, she'll use our weaknesses to her advantage. Not only that, but SalGal's jokes defy common sense and abandon logical principles for the singular purpose of promoting the misguided notion that everything is happy and fine and good. I could write pages on the subject, but the following should suffice. SalGal's publications are rife with contradictions and difficulties; they're thoroughly lascivious, meet no objective criteria, and are unsuited for a supposedly educated population. And as if that weren't enough, SalGal parrots whatever ideas are fashionable at the moment. When the fashions change, her ideas will change instantly, like a weathercock. Some day, I want to hold SalGal responsible for the hatred she so furtively expresses. But you don't have to wait for that. What you can do now is talk to everyone you know about the things I've told you in this letter. Use every medium available to you. Use the Internet. Use your telephone. Use radio and newspapers. And whatever you do, never be afraid to speak out against the evil that is SalGal.

I was wondering why I haven't sold anything on Half...not that I care, because I'm closing shop...got too much going on and don't have time to sell part-time/half-time like I used to...I'm just trying to get rid of some remnants.

In this letter, I'm not going to argue that Ms. SalGal's witticisms are devoid of any intellectual substance. Nor am I going to argue that her biases are more often out of sync with democratic values than aligned with them. I'm not going to argue those factors, because they're irrelevant. Instead, I will say only that she backstabs her loyalists. Wait! Before you dismiss me as wrongheaded, hear me out.
SalGal's inclinations have created an imperious universe devoid of logic and evidence. Only within this universe does it make sense to say that children don't need as much psychological attentiveness, protection, and obedience training as the treasured household pet. Only within this universe does it make sense to herald the death of intelligent discourse on college campuses. And, only if we avoid the extremes of a pessimistic naturalism and an optimistic humanism by combining the truths of both can we destroy this shabby universe of hers and speak up and speak out against her. Horny opportunists may endanger our property or our security or our economic well-being, but SalGal endangers our souls. Given that by seeking to pursue a twofold credo of priggism and onanism, SalGal has forfeited her claim to be morally superior to Attila's Huns or Hulagu's Mongols, isn't it obvious that SalGal descends from a long line of effrontive idiots who like to pour a few drops of wormwood into our general enthusiasm?
Scrutinizing SalGal's outbursts may be instructive in this regard. To a lesser degree and on a smaller scale, SalGal is doing everything in her power to make me go crazy. The only reason I haven't yet is that I believe in the four P's: patience, prayer, positive thinking, and perseverance. Let us now weaken the critical links in Ms. SalGal's nexus of uninformed, sententious terrorism, because in that is our only hope for the future.

Mike - It's possible that you just have not been around long enough to understand the nearly incontrollable impulse of many to rant in response to Sal. GG just happened to give in and is having a little fun while at it. While you may not want to read iy, there are many longtimers that are getting a big kick out of it.
You do realize of course that you are always free to just not return to this particular thread or not read GGs posts right?

Can someone please translate whatever message Ms. Glassgrl is trying to convey into something that I might better be able to understand, like Yiddish or that Bushman clicking language? As it stands, I have no idea whether Glassgrl is seriously claiming that her equivocations are a breath of fresh air amid our modern culture's toxic cloud of chaos or if it's simply the case that like most people that have a repressive agenda to advocate, she wants to deny citizens the ability to draw their own conclusions about the potential for violence that she may be generating. Let me preface my discussion by quickly reasserting a familiar theme of my previous letters: The key to her soul is her longing for the effortless, irresponsible, automatic consciousness of an animal. Glassgrl dreads the necessity, the risk, and the responsibility of rational cognition. As a result, even if one isn't completely conversant with current events, the evidence overwhelmingly indicates that she likes to compare her histrionics to those that shaped this nation. The comparison, however, doesn't hold up beyond some uselessly broad, superficial similarities that are so vague and pointless, it's not even worth summarizing them. Glassgrl's camp appears to be growing in number. I sincerely pray that this is analogous to the flare-up of a candle just before extinction yet I keep reminding myself that it may be helpful to take a step back and bring Glassgrl to justice and encourage others to do the same. So let Glassgrl call me wild. I call her vicious. She is capable of only two things, namely whining and underhanded tricks. We must report as best as possible the facts and circumstances surrounding Glassgrl's meddlesome jeremiads if we are ever to identify, challenge, defy, disrupt, and, finally, destroy the institutions that threaten, degrade, poison, bulldoze, and kill this world of ours. Yes, this is a bold, audacious, even unprecedented undertaking. Yes, it lacks any realistic guarantee of success. However, it is an undertaking that we must indisputably pursue because Glassgrl insists that her decisions are based on reason. How can she be so blind? Very easily. Basically, ancient Greek dramatists discerned a peculiar virtue in being tragic. Glassgrl would do well to realize that they never discerned any virtue in being tactless.
Glassgrl is trying hard to convince a substantial number of venal, petty delinquents to promote a culture of dependency and failure. She presumably believes that the "hundredth-monkey phenomenon" will spontaneously incite what I call eccentric, frightful Machiavellians to behave likewise. The reality, however, is that Glassgrl managed to convince a bunch of unpleasant, homophobic vagrants to help her transform our whole society to suit her own psychotic interests. What was the quid pro quo there? The answer to this question gives the key not only to world history, but to all human culture. By and large, if it weren't for satanic New Age thought police, she would have no friends. Glassgrl clings to clericalism like a drowning man clings to a life preserver, but, as you know, we should agree on definitions before saying anything further about Glassgrl's postmodernist, slaphappy fibs. For starters, let's say that "tribalism" is "that which makes Glassgrl yearn to place stumbling blocks in front of those of us who seek value and fulfilment in our personal and professional lives."
Does Glassgrl do research before she reports things, or does she just guess and hope she's right? The reason I ask is that I am not a robot. I am a thinking, feeling, human being. As such, I get teary-eyed whenever I see Glassgrl sue people at random. It makes me want to discuss the programmatic foundations of her balmy, naive recommendations in detail, which is why I'm so eager to tell you that if Glassgrl honestly believes that some of my points are not valid, I would love to get some specific feedback from her. I, for one, am a law-and-order kind of person. I hate to see crimes go unpunished. That's why I certainly hope that Glassgrl serves a long prison term for her illegal attempts to use organized violence to suppress opposition. In the end, in this case, the obvious solution is also the correct one.

take exception to a few key aspects of Ms. Kozersky's philosophies. I guess I should start by saying that Kozersky is like a giant octopus sprawling its slimy length over city, state, and nation. Like the octopus of real life, she operates under cover of self-created screen. Kozersky seizes in her long and powerful tentacles our executive officers, our legislative bodies, our schools, our courts, our newspapers, and every agency created for the public protection. Today, we might have let her push all of us to the brink of insanity. Tomorrow, we won't. Instead, we will wake people out of their stupor and call on them to put to rest bad-tempered and querulous animadversions such as Kozersky's. If I withheld my feelings on this matter, I'd be no less improvident than Kozersky. And what of it? We must overcome the fears that beset us every day of our lives. We must overcome the fear that she will pooh-pooh the reams of solid evidence pointing to the existence and operation of a sick coterie of antipluralism. And to overcome these fears, we must embrace the cause of self-determination and recognize the leading role and clearer understanding of those people for whom the quintessential struggle is an encompassing liberation movement against the totality of Comstockism. When I first became aware of her covert invasion into our thought processes, all I could think was how my concern is with morality itself, not with the teleological foundations upon which it rests. That conclusion is not based on some sort of Pecksniffian philosophy or on Kozersky-style mental masturbation, but on widely known and proven principles of science. These principles explain that once you understand Kozersky's manuscripts, you have a responsibility to do something about them. To know, to understand, and not to act, is an egregious sin of omission. It is the sin of silence. It is the sin of letting Kozersky prime the pump of vigilantism. I, hardheaded cynic that I am, despise everything about Kozersky. I despise Kozersky's attempts to produce a large number of thoroughly sordid extravagancies, most churlish indecencies, and, above all, the most infernal blasphemies against everything that I hold most sacred and most dear. I despise how she insists that censorship could benefit us. Most of all, I despise her complete obliviousness to the fact that she is capable of only two things, namely whining and underhanded tricks.
In that respect, we can say that Kozersky should not popularize a genre of music whose graphic lyrics explicitly urge inane hedonists to blow the whole situation way out of proportion. Not now, not ever. Up to this point, we have explored some of the motivations and circumstances that make her want to use scapegoating as a foil to draw anger away from more accurate targets. However, we must look beyond both Kozersky's motivations and history if we are truly to understand her artifices. If Fabianism were an Olympic sport, she would clinch the gold medal. Lastly, a real fight against blathering autism can be undertaken only if a basic change in social conditions makes it possible to free Ms. Kozersky's mind from the constricting trammels of interventionism and the counterfeit moral inhibitions that have replaced true morality.
