Of course, she didn't read the title let alone the description. Anyway, if I cancel her high bid (there are a total of 4 bids, 3 from her and 1 from another bidder), will my high bid go back to the opening bid?

It would be the same as if she had never bid at all, so it would go back to the opening bid. I think once you cancel a bid, it cancels ALL bids from that person.

Correct a mundo, except for one thing. The legite bidders amount will be your starting price, not the legite persons opening bid. So if you started at a penny, and the person bids $7. The current bid will be a penny once you cancel the bad bidder.

You're right stonecold. I should have phrased that better. I was actually referring to it going back to the original starting bid price.

Did she ask you to cancel her bids or what? how do you know she is didn't read the auction and wants the item. Maybe a stupid question from her? Just wondering if she asked you to cancel them tell her to go in and cancel her own bids I think it then will show up in her history as such and such bid cancellations.

Irked -- I got a pretty good indication when she wrote to me and asked me to cancel her bid because she didn't know that it was a pattern. Now, mind you, it is listed in the crochet PATTERN category, the title has the words crochet PATTERNS in it, the first line of the description says "Up for bidding is a crochet PATTERN", and a little further down in the description it states "PATTERNS ONLY AND NOT THE FINISHED PRODUCT". I think we can assume that she didn't read a thing and just like the purty pictures.

People don't pay attention to categories when searching key words. I got an email this week from a user who asked about the wicker I was selling at $8.49 and was the shipping REALLY $1.50? (The item title was something like "Wicker rockers @ lobby hotel something atlantic city nj"... GEEZ I hate to waste 8 characters for the word "postcard" in the title, but some people...@#(^$)%^!!!
In the past I had an ASQ about the motel I was selling in Anaheim CA (for $6.49!!!)Of course the word "postcard" is plasterd all over my listings, and I often use it in the titl,e but only if it fits and I don't have anything better to say.
Postcard buyers read, as I am sure pattern buyers do, but these are the kind of folks that quite happily plop $500 down on a picture of an x-box a week before Christmas.
