So this lady won this auction i had last thursday-mailed off saturday-and today i get this message.

I am writing to find out the status of my order. I purchased these shoes last Thursday (using the buy it now method to allow for faster shipping instead of waiting for the auction to end) so I believe I should have received them by today at the latest as I was told they were to be shipped via priority mail. If I have not received them by tomorrow, I expect a refund of my shipping cost as I do not feel I should pay for priority shipping to get an item quickly if I do not in fact receive the item quickly. Thank you for your prompt help in this matter.

and I tracked the package and it stated this:
Your item was forwarded to a different address at 9:39 am on April 10, 2006 in MOSCOW, ID 83843. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

Any suggestions for a reply? I sent it to her confirmed address and it's only monday....dang! This is my first real complaint. Thanks for reading, I'm going to sleep.

enjoy the day!

Email her the address you shipped to, informing her that you shipped to the address on file with Ebay. If she moved and didn't update her info, that's her problem. If the P.O. screwed up, tell her to take up her refund request with the local postmaster. In any event, you did your part and you don't owe her a refund.

Never, ever use the ebay address to ship anything. Only use the address they provide when they send payment.

You could be screwed. The post office forwarding is not considered shipping to a confirmed address, so if she files, you could have a headache.

However, from your statement, it does appear that you used the PayPal listed address and not the ebay listed address. You did everything right if so.

She needs to be informed that Priority Mail has to be used if the item weights over 13 oz and the fact that you use priority mail doesn't mean that you mail the next day unless she requested that you do so. Parcel Post is very slow and doesn't really save much most of the time but I always offer it as an alternative just in case. If she needed it quickly - she should have informed you. Sounds like she is looking for a free ride. Don't take the bait@!!

Ralphie would respond to her thusly:

"Please go and forcefully compress silica! And HAVE A NICE DAY"

I would advise that priority mail is not a guaranteed service like express mail, and that once you ship you have no control over how quickly the post office delivers.

Give the buyer the tracking number, and as ebayvet said, you have no control over how quickly the post office delivers.
