I listed a walking cane with a Cobra head and a sword inside. The sword is ornamental...not sharpened...I stated that in the auction. Within a few hours the auction was removed by eBay. Something about it being a weapon.
Today I did searches on a few related items that are active auctions. There are 1465 Bowie Knives, 447 Pen Knives, 47 Switchblade Knives, 20837 Swords (ones title says Razor Sharp) and 5341 Daggers. Can someone tell me why my cane was removed???

Maybe because you were reported and they were not... or maybe because it is a concealed weapon. By coincidence I am reading a mystery novel now where an antique dealer is murdered with a sword cane and the detective says it should not have been in his shop because it is a concealed weapon and not legal.
I know nothing about this and realize that a mystery novel is not a smart way to get real information.

Sword canes are illegal in California, as well as most states. No way are they going to let you list that on Ebay.

I never thought about it being a concealed weapon but I guess it is. Oh well, live and learn. Thanks for the info

I listed an antique sword cane once and it was removed by Ebay by the next morning. Apparently because it was an illegal concealed weapon- at least in California where Ebay is located. The sword inside your cane could probably be sharpened and put to use. Think they are legal to sell in England but you cannot use Ebay to do it.
