7 days is not enough time to allow for mailing delays. I wait for 14 days. That way if the mail was mis-directed, it will have usually been corrected and delivered. Then I send a friendly reminder e-mail. If they do not respond, then I file the UPI (formerly NPB) report and go from there. I would say the of the NPB's, 95% pay up after the reminder e-mail. 2% only pay once a UPI has been reported and the rest are deadbeats.
