Hi,

I want to set up a second ebay account just to sell my vintage jewelry. Anyone know how to do this? I keep getting the message that I already have an account. Can we have more than one account on ebay?

Thanks in advance for your help

You can have more than one eBay account. I set mine up a long time ago and the only requirement then was the accounts could not use the same email address. The two accounts have be totally seperate, different user id, different email addy, perhaps even a different CC number.

You can use the same credit card and bank account, but you must use a different email account.

Wrong. That has nothing to do with Ebay. You have to sign up with a different e-mail account and sign in with that different e-mail account.

We are saying the same thing, she has to sign on to her ISP with a different email addr (or if she is with AOL,a different screen name which is not registered with Ebay),go to EBAY and register as a new member.
Thats how AOL members can have 7 Ebay IDS,one per screen name.

My question is CAN you have 2 ebay id with one Paypal account. I have 2 ID at ebay but have not tried to pay for anything with Paypal on my second ID. I did add the email address and user ID at my Paypal account it took it fine. I did notice it want me to sign in at Paypal when I pay with other ID I just have not tried to pay for an ebay win on that other name with Paypal. Can it be done? & How?

Yes Irked - you can have 6 email addresses attached to a single PayPal account, therefore you can also have up to six ebay accounts attached to one PayPal account. Just go to the Profile section in PayPal and add your the email account.

Hwa - I've been gaining internet access for years without having to enter an email address. The ISP is completely irrelevent to the registration of an ebay account.

When you go to the ebay site to start another user id, the ebay computers are reading your cookies and they think that you should be signing in under your normal user id. Log off the internet, clear your cache, reboot then go to ebay and try it again but as others have said that you need a different email addy with each new ebay user id.

Will have to try that.
When you sign in to the paypal account you use your main identity? or the email associated with other ebay account? I think I tried that and it didn't let me sign in with my second ebay id email addy, even though I have other emails associated with the PP account. OR do we have to go in and make other id default? Kinda stumped.

not so with AOL

Wrong again. You can accept payment from as many different accounts as you wish with one PayPal account. Two ways to do this. First is to simply tell your buyer what PayPal address to send it to. The second is to put the e-mail address in the space where ebay asks to what e-mail address is your PayPal account.

IRKED,
Paypal is not just for ebay sellers and buyers, there are others who use Paypal like websites and individuals outside Ebay.
Why do you want to sign on to your Paypal accunt with another Ebay id ?Is that Ebay id included in that Paypal account??

Could be for security reason-think of it,there is only one password for that paypal account and only the primary email address should be used to access the account.

My sister and I share a PayPal account for our shop. We have the shop email and her email on it. We can sign in with either and the same password.

I have two email address associated with my buying account and again I can sign in under either.

You may want to call Paypal and ask why you are having problem.

Irked - what appears in the windows when you to PayPals site is decided soley by your cookies. You don't have to go into the clear your cookies/clear your cache thing. All you have to do is enter an email address registered to the account and your account password.

That said... it's actually kind of irrelevent.

Say you have 6 email accounts linked to a single paypal account... No matter what email address you use to sign in with, you are going to sign in to the same account. Also, no matter what email account you choose to send the payment from or what address the payment is sent to, ALL notices are going to go to the same email address, the one you have signified as your Primary address in the profile section.

You hear that stop-hwahwa? Has absolutely nothing to do with AOhell. All you need to do is delete that address it shows in the box and put in the address you want.

Stone,
if we are talking about ebay registration(not Paypal),Ebay will fill in my AOL email addr in the registration form and there is no way to erase or write over .
I dont think it is the cookie,if it were the cookie, then all I have to do is to delete the cookie and try again.
Also if I launch IE or Firefox while I am still with this AOL screen name, and go to Ebay to register,Ebay does not know what my email addr is?
You know we AOL subscribers cannot launch IE or Firefox without launching AOL first!!

Well DUH! Thanks photosensitive You said the key word I was clearly not thinking I was using the password that went to my ebay id not Paypal. DUH!
Yep I got in with either email account realizing what I had been doing.. SAME password for Paypal not EBAY LOL I feel like a dunce. I usually am a lot smarter than that. Guess I figured if I had another id to use at Paypal I had to have another password. Man I feel stupid.
My only case of stupid all year and I made it to April.

Stop...I believe what Stone is referring to is that each time you log onto Ebay, a cookie is deposited that remembers you and your password for 24 hours. You are prompted 24 hrs later to log in with your password. If you click the link that logs you off, that cookie is erased and when you try to access the login page, both the username and password field will be blank. On that screen, will be an invitation to register as a member. Once registered with a secondary account, You will need to log off your primary account each time you wish to log in to the secondary account, and vice versa. I have 2 Ebay accounts and am on AOL. Ebay does not get any of your information from AOL. They get it from the cookie that was dropped onto your hard drive the last time you logged on to Ebay. I have no idea how Paypal is set up as I don't have any dealings with those people.

Spartz.
I know what you are saying, but if I launch IE or Firefox within that sreen name which is registered with Ebay,Ebay does not KNOW my email addr on the registration page.If it is picking up that email addr from my cookie ,then it should make no difference whether I open a new browser ??
Well, this may be off topic, but many AOL members have been suspended for shill bidding as they log off AOL with one screen name and log back on AOL with another screen name, thinking Ebay does not know ,but Ebay does!!
