Lets pick Over Stock.Com but it applies to all "other Internet auction" sites.
I bid on an item. Clearly takes Pay Pal.
I win, I pay. Two weeks later money not taken. Seller has never sent an e-mail. (I got one form Pay Pal about payment unclaimed.)
I believe this is common on other sites, with the attitude of "So what".
Those same buyers migrate to Ebay and you all have to deal with them.
As others have said Ebay is old hat now (over ten years?) April-Aug are terrible listing months. (I know there are few who always say how great it is but I always wondered what weed they were smoking. )
Anyway have a nice summer, while I duck Hurricane's>

I've had the opposite experience. Sellers or buyers are much quicker to contact and faster to pay than on eBay. It really depends on the volume of traffic the auction site has. A lively trading atmosphere is the best sign! YMMV

This is not because of other auction sites. This happened because you sent payment to an e-mail address that does NOT have a PayPal account. You should cancel that payment, then contact your seller to see where to send the payment. You should never send payment to anyone that does not e-mail you first with the purchase info including their physical address.

always wait for the seller to send you an email invoice first,do not assume he takes paypal or he will check his emails .
