I shipped a package to Canada to a "confirmed address". They guy says he didnt get. I shipped USPS airmail and insured using blue slip. Now my question is this....to be protected PP requires that I can prove I sent...which I can do but it also requires that I can prove he got it. Well thats the point....he didnt get. So what protection do I really have? Now I am told that the blue insurance slip is useless in tracking because I was told Canada doesnt scan them. Boy am I glad I bought that! Anyone have any advice??
Thanks!

Could it be stuck in customs? Canada can be slow shipping.

do you take down the number on the customs slip?If you do,you can enter that number on USPS where you enter the DC number and it will show where it went?
That USPS blue slip is also trackable by USPS personnel, call your post office and they can track it for you.Unfortunately this is worthless for Paypal as it is not 'online trackable by third party'.
Your post office can also find out if anyone has signed for it.
If your buyer keeps insisting he did not get it,then you can file insurance, find out how when you call USPS,they will tell you.

Probably the only real way to protect yourself is to send it registered - but you still have the same problem, which you have with US shipping as well - if it's not delivered, they can do a charge back.
I think as seller's we are really kidding ourselves that we have any protect anyway. If a buyer wants to do a charge back - they can and my experience with paypal is that they will accept the buyers word over the sellers regardless of any proof the seller may have to offer.

yes, just enter that number where you enter the DC number.
Whether the Canadian post office scan that blue insurance slip of yours is not your problem, you took out insurance with USPS,so let them figure out how to deal with their Canadian counterpart.

The blue insurance slip means nothing to PayPal. You want the customs form number. You will want to track it on both the USPS site and the Canadian Postal website. If then it is still not delivered, PayPal can reverse the charges. But in turn, you can claim the insurance as a lost parcel. Air mail should have made it by now though. It generally is the best service to Canada.

Be sure to let your customer know that you are working on tracking it down as well. It is just a simple note to keep the peace.

If you try to track it on the USPS site with the customs form number with no luck try the Canadian Postal site at https://obc.canadapost.ca/emo/basicPin.do?language=en&?sblid=DC

I have found a couple of times that items shipped to Canada do not show up on the US website after they leave the country but do show up on the receiving countrys website.
