Thanks for this list. I've heard some of the ideas before but not all. Last summer I wore a sheet of fabric softener (I've heard any of them will do, not just Bounce) tucked into my sleeve and wasn't bothered by insects.

Just be careful about using Bounce, or any fabric softener, around someone who suffers from asthma. They have been known to trigger severe attacks in some individuals.

After having been bitten by a yellow jacket and becoming very very ill - I can't tell you how I appreciate this post. I'll never leave my RV again without one.

IF it is only the odor that works for repelling the bees etc the be warned to use fresh sheets as after time they loose their smell. I and my wife use them everywhere. Heck I even use the used ones as air filter for my PC behind the front cover of the PC where it sucks in the air I have one neatly taped at corners-- trimmed and out of site and I don't get a lot of dust in my PC that has to be cleaned out and off the internal works. Nice little air filter, don't recommend the unused ones for this as they are not so airflow through capable.
I use them on just about every ebay item I sell as an insert in the shipping box. Have not had any complaints from any asthmatic people but don't know if they are or not.
Another hint/ warning for those using bounce or bounce like sheets or even fabric softners to wash their dryer screens frequently as buildup can stop free airflow through the screens, want to test the dryer screen put water on it if it does not drip more like run through the screen wash it and use a toothbrush on it, let it dry and retest and the water runs right through. It is a buildup of the softner that stops up the filter screen making your dryer work harder use more electricity and takes longer to dry your clothes. You will not see this invisible barrier buildup and most people think their screens are letting air through freely but it does affect all the above I stated. Ok just another tip for you....

I rub them on my big fluffy cat before I groom him. I used to give him shocks all the time from static electricity, and so he hated being groomed, but Bounce has solved that.

A few summers ago I golfed on a golf league and was bothered by gnats and mosquitos. I had read about Bounce's insect repellent capability so I tucked a couple of sheets in my visor (ok they were hanging down from the band part and I have to admit I looked pretty ridiculous ). I got a lot of teasing from my girlfirends but IT WORKED! Guess I won't make anyone's "best dressed" list.

If you are in a portapotty at the park that has run out of toilet paper, it could be a subsitute. Then you would have the freshest smelling butt in the nation.

stone - Hmm, emergency toilet paper. Just remember not to use the same sheet later to wipe down your tv screen. Would make one heck of a mess.
Something for the ammunition reloader. I have been using them for years to wipe down my powder scale pan, inside my powder measure and inside my powder trickler for years. Keeps the powder grains from sticking to them thereby making switching powders to another type you no longer have any stuck in your dispenser tube and trickler to contaminate the next powder.

Neglus hahaha I bet that was a site with them dangling hope you dangled them in back and not in front LOL My wife has been known to tie knot in them on diagonal to make them look like bows and wearing them outside, or tying them like that around a strap of her top if able to.
Oh you know how you open the box and let sit around your dryer? Well store the box in a drawer and that drawer will smell fantastic. My wife always stores the entire box in her drawer and goes there to retrieve one. She has been known to have more than one box stored cracked open and put in plastic bag to help retain their smell longer but that smell still permeates the drawer .

Well, personally I'd rather waft off some Bounce aroma than wave off those skeeters we've got here. Mosquito activity right now in humid South Carolina is "extremely high" says the weather channel. Last sheet now waits for this evening and The Experiment. Would be a blessing not to have to spritz on deet all night long which can't possibly be good for you in the long run.
If this works .. why I'll be indebted to niel forever!

Now that the West Nile Virus is entrenched coast to coast, mosquitoes are no longer a nuisance. They are potential killers. I can accept the smell of anything that is effective in keeping them away from me.

Hope this works for all of you. I haven't even tried it yet. Waiting for rains to come in St. Augustine. there is a marsh across the street so bound to be mosquitos soon. My bro from Canada recommended Bounce but maybe the cheaper products work just as well. Try and tell!

Irked: About Avon Skin So Soft--We had some of it at our cabin in the mountains, and we had an awful problem with those biting yellow flies that come in July. On the advice of someone on the internet I tried it, and it kept the biting flies off me for about an hour; nothing else touched it, not even the fabric softener sheets. Small price to pay, to have to reapply it every hour I'm outside. But it was amazing in its effectiveness.

Here's another quote
My husband and I have our own telecom business. When we receive boxes of equipment, there is packing popcorn in the boxes which has a "lot" of STATIC. Just digging in the box causes the popcorn with the static to spill over and stick to my hands. By rubbing my hands and arms with a used dryer sheet the static is eliminated. Packing popcorn can be messy and frustrating, but Bounce saved me aggrevation. Thank you.

Jack...Thanks for bringing this thread back up. I was going to get on later and inquire which fabric sheets were mentioned in it. The bugs are starting to buzz here in the valley, so it's time to try it out.

Let us know how it works out,Sparky
My sister in Canada has made flowers out of the Bounce sheets and puts them around her garden to keep the deer out.
