Geeesh!
I only got him the stupid PP account so he could sign-up for the Play-Pup Channel ("All beeches, all the time") -- tis the first spoof I've seen with BOTH the CORRECT NAME and the CORRECT email address associated with one's PP account...

Do you use that email and name at sign up on web sites for real?___ if so then that site is sharing or selling your information. If not then I would suspect PP itself. Scarry thought. If you got email with his name on it that is hint that you did sign up somewhere. IF you signed him up at ebay then YEP you will get Paypal spoofs for sure. I get them all the time with my other ebay account and its email addy even before I had added it to the PP account but not with the name of user on it. Hope you find out something or can narrow it down let us know. OH I know you posted the email addy here on the boards a while back but don't know if you put his name there too or not if so a bot may have gotten it even without it being in right format to retrieve I think they find them.

Tom - I might be able to top this one with an ASAQ e-mail.
A long time ago I adopted the practice of NOT clicking on anything in an e-mail - and I was reading the e-mail remotely, so wouldn't have taken any action until I returned home....
Here's what concerned me and how it just didn't "feel" right...
First, it came with a REAL live auction item that was an item we've been selling for years - complete with the correct listing title and the live auction ID#.
The question is what started my curiosity as it read like slightly broken English (spelling was okay). "I really want this and I am willing to pay more so that I get a good deal," it read. "Can you ship to xxxxx (a local Zip Code about 10 miles from us)? If so, reply me back."
The question just didn't seem "right" because it was a BIN item and why wouldn't I be able to ship to a location so close to me?
Of course, I checked "My eBay" for the question and it wasn't there.
That's when I noticed the e-mail was sent to an e-mail that's not registered with eBay - but one we use for another purpose.
They're getting GOOD at it now. I had heard of getting questions for non-current listings and those with incorrect auction ID#s that weren't even yours....
This was the first I had seen with everything believable except mailed to the wrong e-mail address.
I know there have been criticism for a lot of wacky things they've done to make it even more challenging to sell - but the messaging system is one tool that will protect us from these things.
Be on the lookout and be extra cautious.
