This is the first time i have been asked to ship to Estonia.(europe).The postoffice here says to p.o. box. only for delivery. Can any one shed any light on this country for shipping or postage.? He also said that he will pay with pay pal.

he has just bid on 3 B.I.N. articles. and still has a bid on a $150.auction. One more thing he says. wants it shipped by slower and cheaper method. WHAT say you guys.? Thanks.

I wouldn't hesitate to ship to Estonia by any method. (Is this guy's feedback okay?)

We've spent time in the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), mostly Lithuania, and the countries are modern with democratic governments. Good people over there!

Even back in the 90s as they were pulling away from Russia, we could send supplies there.

Yo! Pebbles!

What country are you in? USA?? ELBONIA?? Down Under??

Anyhoo, here's Messr.Ralphie duDaug's INTERNATIONAL Policies:

1) NEVER ship SURFACE! Takes 3-4 months from JAX to AUSTRALIA / takes 4-8 weeks from JAX to EUROPE. No matter what the buyer says beforehand, once ya ship, they begin to P&M after about DAY 5: "Where's my packie, you THIEF...you CROOK, etc, etc" ALWAYS ship some flavor of AIRMAIL

2) ACCEPT PAYPAL only for amounts yer willing to throw into the toilet! With INTERNATIONAL PP PAYMENTS, yer butt is literally flapping in the breeze, without even the BOGUS semi-protection of PP's SELLERS UNPROTECTION PLAN.

Many here say they NEVER had any problems. Yeah, well, nothing is a PROBLEM until it IS a problem, and then you EAT $50 or $150 or $1000 -- WHAT IS YOUR RISK TOLERANCE?

3) WE DO ACCEPT:

A: INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDERS
B: DIRECT BANK-TO-BANK WIRE TRANSFERS
C: Good ole USA Greenbacks! (course, ya cannot say THAT in yer listing)

Agate,

Slow (or cheap) shipping + PayPal = recipe for charge back or reversal. Also applies for any country, but doubly so outside Canada and UK - the only two countries covered by PayPal's less than satisfactory SPP.

Suggest bank check in USD or USD cash (available at Bureau d'Changes).

Hello everyone. My apoligies for not answering you all sooner. I have had a busy day. been preparing for my trip out bush to my opal mines. Still building the camp. So collecting materials all day.

thank you all for your input. For those who dont know, i am in australia. In Queensland.

It is certain that i wont be shipping by sea mail as was requested. And what ever way i ship the parcel, it will be insured with DSI.

I did phone paypal today to try to get some info. The person i spoke to promised to email me some info that i was told. but he did not.

He did tell me to make sure that i send it to a confirmed address that they have on their records . In other words the address in the email that comes when they let you know when it is paid. They said that they actually confirm the address by their credit card billing address. None of you seem to trust paypal in another country. Advice i will heed.

I know some of you dont like western union.
I have used it on occasions like this and it was always successfull. I can also accept credit cards direct. Failing that i can also get him to T.T. the monies to a bank account here in aust.

mikes4x4andtruckrepair. Thank you for the list of prohibited articles for ESTONIA.

roadsmith His feedback is 100% 21 AND 78 actual.

tOMWiii and Messr.Ralphie duDaug's INTERNATIONAL Policies: Thank you for your policies. all will be heeded.

hwahwa PAYPAL is available to Estonia. I did check that today. thank you.

agitprop U.S.D. in cash is very difficult for us to get here in aust.

Now, to see if i can stir up paypal for telling me lies.

G'day Bruce! (obligitory Monty Pythonesque salutation to Aussies)

Sorry about that cobber. Your Estonian buyer could probably get AUD plastic bank notes (just as easily as USD) at any Bureau d'Change, since many Aussies pass through the Baltics on their OE. Credit cards are a good option but follow normal precautions for foreign orders; request they email a copy of recent card statement showing their billing address and confirm it matches the shipping address. You should get some proof of shipping from your Post Office (or whatever your credit card processor recommends) to protect against any charge back for non-delivery.

Forget about wires or SWIFT transfers as Aussie banks have a well-deserved reputation as ripoff artists. Any decent Aussie credit union or similar non bank is often a better option. (FYI I have all my European payments credited to one of my European bank accounts with no transfer charges deducted and at wholesale exchange rates. It's been a great hedge against the falling NZD/AUD/USD...)

p.s. remember if you get trapped by a cave-in down one of your opal mines, don't settle for less than $1.5m for your exclusive news story. After all the boys in Tasmania are probably getting $1m a piece!

G/DAY agitprop. Thank you for your advice. I actually found american banks have the worst reputation for being the biggest ripoff. but then again i know that all banks are a big ripoff. not just aussie or usa banks.

there is no easy solution to the problem of receiving payment safely. especially when it comes back to a non reversal payment for the genuine sellers. Oh well we can only try.

Now as to opal mining, I dont do underground mining, the ground is too dangerous. i mine by open cut method. a 30 ton excavator.(track hoe ) i think you guys call them. So i guess i wont be able to sell my story for a fortune. On my lease we only have to go down to about 32 feet. but we have 5 different levels down to the 32 foot level.

haveaniceday. Frank
