There are two types of first class mail. There is what most people are accustomed to which is regular first class letter/card post and there is also first class parcel up to 13 ounces (the max weight for 1st class). Is the seller providing insurance with the shipment or delivery confirmation, signature confirmation? They cost more. Plus their packaging and handling fee's. Still $20 sounds a little high but I never have a problem with high shipping charges as long as they state them in the listing. I just figure that into my final bid.

I just sold an item that should have been sent first class. At least that's how I would have shipped until the price went up-up-up. I bumped it up to Priority with signature confirmation just for the protection. I also showed the item to the Postmaster, packed it in front of her and shipped. The insurance alone cost me almost $9.

This sounds like a $1000 package. Registered Mail with DC would have probably been cheaper. And if you had a Paypal payment, I hope you used signature confirmation as well as DC.
.
.On DSI......how much do they charge to insure a $1000 package.

.On sending a $1000 package.....is Registered mail with DC good enough for Paypal seller protection? Registered Mail has to be signed for.
