Requesting your collective smarts to help me identify this set of three "stands" tied together with old ribbon.
Only 10" tall, appear to be made from pine, base is about 3" in diameter, some age to them, but not sure how much. Found at estate auction with completely unrelated items in a box.
So? Hat stands (seem awfully small), wig stands, something to cordon off a display or doll house? Suggestions for category? I'm stumped.
Cleaning out the garage today, and taking lots of breaks since it's a relative nasty and boring job (except when the Holy Grail turns up, which I don't believe is the case with these).
TIA
B/

Change the ribbon to red velvet... it's a rope line set up for Movie Star Barbie

It really does look like a rope line for something smaller--perhaps something on a table like around a wedding cake or such. Odd.

Of course it's junk! Question is, what KIND of junk, and is it saleable? You may be astonished to learn what I have sold over the years, or may be not.
I like the roped off idea -- but 'fraid Barbie would be drawfed by it. Note that my worst nightmare is to have to resort to selling Barbie stuff (with thosy nasty Hummels a close second) as I get older and feebler.
Wedding cake, huh? That's an excellent suggestion!

Looks like satin ribbon, which reminded me of wedding stuff; that's why I suggested it. Maybe it would rope off part of a gift display table??

I did put them in "display" for lack of better -- but I think your wedding association is correct so maybe I'll move them to vintage wedding.
Oh, about those Hummels; sorry about that, but I personally find them singularly insipid as a category. Probably from too many auctions with too many lots to sit through, and too many show neighbors with rows of same lined up like so many bingo prizes. I think that was my evil twin who wrote that anyway.

Birgit: I agree with you about the Hummels! And there are many faux Hummels on the market, too. I've sat through many minutes of Hummel auctions, one after another of the cute little people, yawning. A few years ago a neighbor said she had a large box of Hummels. I took a look at them and they were all genuine--but when I researched how they were doing on eBay she said never mind, she'd keep them. I was relieved.

Hummels did very well in the early days of Ebay, but now that they aren't as rare as once thought, Ebay has driven the price to the point that you are better off keeping them.
