I wish they would have annouced it sooner, I would not have posted all those auctions on Monday, now they will get NO action with the millions of auctions that are going to be posted with this @#%^ 20-cent listing promotion.

I'll work like crazy to get some new listing done. Last 10 cents listing day was really great for me.
More notice would have been great!!

Anyone else see the impending doom and destruction of 10 cent listing days? They "tried out" 10 cent listing days back when we used to get FREE listing days. It was successful enough for them, that they axed the free ones... and stuck with 10 cent ones. Anyone else think they're testing the waters with this? Nothing like eBays greed to nickle-and-dime the sellers to death.... I for one will not be participating.

I think you're right. They're testing to see if the 20 cents keeps the listing counts up.

The last sale day I raised prices on everything and still sold as much as usual for a sale day. I'm doing the same this time.

Fixed price seems to work better than auctions on these sale days.

I accepted the 10 cent listing days, but 20 cents. Come on Ebay. Get real. No incentive here to get listing. I now support the no-listing protest.

Where is Steve? Maybe he can post the auction counts and we can see how many people compared to other dates opt in on this event.

The worst part of these promotions is there are always sellers who try to schedule their listings to launch during the "prime time" spot of 6:00PM - 8:00PM PDT, and then come here whining that Vendio is broken because their listings are stuck in processing and not launching on schedule. They don't seem to realize that every third seller on Ebay is trying to do the same thing at the same time, thus creating a logjam that finally clears up at about 10:30 that night. I suspect the first outraged seller will show up to trash Vendio about 6:30 this evening.

Auction counts are always fun to watch.

It looks like some people are listing like crazy.

I just wish ebay would do more to drive BUYERS to ebay during these listing days.

Attention Procrastinators, some genius has scheduled maintenance so you only get a 23 hours listing day.

**The eBay system will be undergoing general maintenance from approximately 23:00 PT on Thursday, June 8th to 01:00 PT on Friday, June 9th. During this maintenance period, certain eBay site features may be intermittently unavailable or slow**

BTW, search indexing is still not working. Going on 4 hours after launch and items still not showing in the search.

Does Vendio still schedule it's maintenance times to coincide with Ebay's?

Only a million new listings. Yes, it is only half the day, and we will see what it does at 8pm, but the pace is down from the usual 7 million listings.

Looks like eBay is trying to increase listings during eBay Live. 5-7 day closings will have auctions closing during the Live event.

Almost a catch 22 though because if you were attending Live you wouldn't want a bunch of auctions closing while you were away from home....

A) School just got out, and some of them aren't even finished yet.
B) Vacation season hits full blast this week.
C) It's early summer, so lots of people are taking advantage of the weather for outside stuff.
D) At least for the stuff I sell, Summer is slow anyway.
E) On a Thursday? I wonder how many people will spring for the extra three days to make their auctions end on a Sunday?

Nope, 20 cents isn't a good enough deal for me to list this week. Actually, I'm having trouble thinking of a WORSE week to list on eBay. Too many people just won't be buying this week.

Well... it looks like they got about 3.5 million listings, versus about 6.5 million on the last 10 cent listing day. Not nearly the same amount... but... they actually made more in listing fees ($700,000 versus $650,000). Not to mention that it's less taxing on their servers. We'll see... but I'd be willing to bet that the next listing sale will be a $0.20 one and not a $0.10 one. If that's the case, I'd rather spend the extra $0.15 per listing on most my items and get them launched on better traffic days, without all the extra junk.

I did about 6 listings with an hour earlier start time because on dime day - it took 2 extra hours to launch.
All 6 launched without a hitch. No lag in start time at all.

Do you all remember my posting the last time we had a free or reduced listing fee day? I said that these are coming when ole fee bay is doing an upgrade. People don't complain as much when they get a reduced charge, right? !! Check below. They are doing it again!

They do maintenance every Thursday night Paloma - that is a weekly announcement. But I also thought that they might be checking the search by offering this sale date - kind of odd to offer when 15,000 ebay sellers will be at ebay live when auctions end.

They might do their maintenance on Thursday evenings and this is the same day of the week that they have had their recent reduced or "free" listing days. Interesting, don't you think?
