I made a booboo. I relisted a widget without checking my inventory. I sold it this morning & I can't fill the order. I alerted the buyer that I don't have the item. Now, how do I get back my FVF?

HUmmmm you may get neg but you can go in and file NPB page that you both agreed to not complete the sell? But your bidder will have to agree. Or I think there is another option available in that list that might be more appropriate. How did your buyer take it? If mad you might offer to send a small consolation gift but that would be a last resort.

Couldn't you just cancel the bid on it from here? http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?CancelBidShow

As far as I am concerned, you don't. Your mistake. Not the buyers. The buyer shouldn't suffer a NPB because of your mistake. Eat the FVF's and move on.

mike: you can't cancel a bid after its sold

stone: you can do a mutually agreed cancellation, where the buyer doesn't get a NPB, and you get your FVF back.

Pull the contact info (or look it the number yourself) - and call the buyer - it will be the easiest, and you'll be able to gauge right away if you need to offer a consolation prize

Assuming the buyer agrees, you go into the dispute console, and file for the refund using the pull-down menus

I know how the system works, but IMHO sanmar still should eat it.
