Woke me up and couldn't go back to sleep. I think it was centered near Sannar and Roadsmith! No, I was wrong. It was closer to me.

Thanks Marc. Looks like it isn't that far from where the 1989 earthquake hit. Did you feel it?

I just heard that it was centered near Santa Clara. Nowhere near us, here in So. Calif., happily.

Roadsmith...It was over by Gilroy. I must have slept through it. If anything in that area got smashed, we'll be enjoying onshore garlic breezes for the next 3 months.

We are fine. It wasn't a big shaker. It shook strong enough and loud enough to wake us up and that was it.

I've been into a couple of antique shops over on the coast that sell earthquake putty. If you have some very expensive china, glassware or figurenes displayed in a cabinet or on shelves, a little dab of this stuff on the base will keep it anchored during a quake and keep everything from shaking out onto the floor.

Paloma...Looks like there was an aftershock sometime today. My first thought was that this happened on the San Andreas fault. Looking closer, it appears it could have been the Hayward Fault. NOT good news for the East Bay if that thing is rumbling.

I thought 'they' said that it was along a lesser, thus-far unnamed faultline or maybe that's just wishful thinking because I live within spitting distance of the Hayward fault?
Yeeee haw!

I didn't feel anything but the big one yesterday. IF it's along the Hayward fault I wouldn't feel it because it is not near me. I know there is a "hairline" fault that is connected to san andreas that runs near my house.
