Are you selling from your ebay store? Personally if I don't start selling more my store is outta here until they "fix" the problem...I hope that is not "till the end of time"!

My store sales have improved since I opted out of Express with it's spiffy new search.

"sales have improved since I opted out of Express"

I've heard this before. My store has stunk ever since Express came along. I originally thought I'd give Express a try, but I've had NO sales from that at all.

Where do you go to opt-out? It won't hurt to try that for a while.

GOTO "PREFERENCES" >>

About 3/4 of the way down is the "EBAY EXPRESS" selection >> you have to EXPAND it first to see the options...

I have not set up a store yet and am only listing in auctions. My preferences were set to include ebay express. Would that also include my auction listings?

Express doesn't include auction items.

Why would express hurt your store? Isn't that just one more way to get your item out there? Or, do they have to pay immediately with only paypal if you have express? I haven't been paying attention.

Express utilizes a new search engine. My thoughts are that items included in Express are indexed optimally to be found by Express and that possibly affects their ability to be found by regular eBay search - just a theory.

I opted out of express a couple of weeks ago and my store sales increased. The dollar amount sold from the last two weeks equaled the amount sold in May. So for some reason opting out does work.

I have never used Express because it's for US only, and I am Canadian. However, my store sales are terrible! I don't know if I'm even covering my costs. They were great when the search was expanded. I hope eBay realizes that more sales means more 8% fvf's for them in store sales.

Like Amber, I am Canadian and we are not included in Express however Store sales have died.
I am moving those items to Wagglepop..innovative ideas there. Figure It can't hurt to give it a try and it is a whole different world than last year.

Think Ralphie left a BIG one of those on the back lawn this morning?

I opted in to Express (wasn't included in the beginning for some reason) and then out as a trial when I read about EE causing search problems- I saw SOME sales but I wouldn't call it a surge. I opted in again and the sales I had looked GOOD compared to the sales I was then getting...I opted out again and sales have been up and down. I only had one EE sale (and I am pretty sure that was an accident because I could never find my own items on Express). If you ask me, the search problems are not just EE related but are/were pretty serious site-wide. Sometimes I think things are "fixed" and then it seems like they are broken again. The faucet I have observed for some time seems to be a bigger factor now than even before. I wonder if ebay is just quick-fixing search issues until they roll out the Express-type intuitive search on the "Core Site" next year. I am a little bit scared that the promised answer to Stores in Search is going to be the Express-style intuitive search later this summer.

I wish we could stop this intuitive search from happening because I know once ebay sets something in place (except for Stores in Search which I am beginning to think was no accident)it is very hard to get them to change.

If I were a buyer I would be incensed to learn that I wasn't being shown all available items that matched my search words but instead a filtered result based on what the ebay "THink Tank" (headed by a nuclear engineer BTW) DECIDED I should see. That kind of search will be a disaster for the site itself and will not do service to buyers OR sellers! I wonder if ebay has a suicide wish?

I opted IN and my sales SUCKED --

I opted OUT and my sales were...SUCKIER...

I opted IN and my sales over the past week have been: EXCELLENT --

paloma, no, I opted out right at the beginning, even though I wouldn't be allowed to use it.

Is there a way to tell if an item sells from eBay Express?

I've been very happy with my store which I only opened about 3 months ago and to be honest have not worked on lately - just sticking stuff in there and darn if it doesn't sell.
I only have 2 auctions running at the moment and that's the first time in at least 7 years that I can say that.

Tom and Neg...
I opted OUT and will see it can't be any worse than being IN... I will run Toms test of in and out.... we will see. Over the past month if I don't have auctions running I get few hits and no sales in the store. Everything that doesn't sell in auction format has been transfered to store. Gosh darn ebay for changing up the search the money that company makes from their "community" US... you'd think they could share some of the crumbs with us.

I just opted out of eBay Express. Until I read this thread, I hadn't even known about it. We'll see what happens.....

When I was "tweaking" my store this morning, I found that I had "authorized" some eBay "Pay and Play" (can't remember exactly what is was called, the latest contest eBay had to win a trip to Vegas) to act on my behalf! I would never authorize someone I don't know, or even someone I do know, to act on my behalf on eBay! I opted out of THAT!!

Store sales totally dead. There must be only 15,000 buyers on ebay and they're all at the convention this week.

It also doesn't help that they seem to be doing the Amazon cycling thing. Not all items are always showing. Go to your store front and refresh the page several times...the total number of listings keeps changing.

Neglus...

I agree with you! The real problem is that the buyers will never know they aren't getting all results. So, with the millions of items for sale on Ebay they may be very satisfied (and tell Ebay that in the surveys). But, we the sellers, are going to be in serious trouble!!!

I agree that search is cycling through some way (I'm also afraid that is another answer to stores in search).

And, lastly, I don't think it was an accident that stores were put into search or that they were pulled out. Personally, I think it was some type of experiment to test EE and how the system could handle it

I understood that EVEN auction items with buy it now or was it FP would be included in the Express not just store items. I think I am opted in but don't do that many FP items all the time. AM I wrong?
