I just sold an item to a nice lady in Australia. It is an expensive item and she paid very fast w/insurance.
I have never done on line shipping labels for international but thought I would give it a try again - the last time I, it didn't work. This time looks fine but I didn't complete it.
The odd part is when I got the paypal payment notice it said unconfirmed address. When I went on line, it was listed as a confirmed address?
I can't add insurance on line but I can insure with DSI and do the on line label. This looks like the best way to go because if I take it to the post office then it won't be a confirmed address. I don't understand this and welcome any help.

Unless you ship EMS,it makes no difference whether her address is confirmed or not,as EMS is the only way you can have online trackable DC with USPS.

Unless things have changed while my attention was diverted, it doesn't matter if it's a confirmed address.

Did the payment notification indicate that it was eligible for seller protection? Probably not, and in that case, it isn't. It's not a confirmed address for the transaction. Online it will say it's a confirmed address, which gives you some small measure of reassurance that the buyer is an established person (but won't mean diddly if they file a dispute).

That doesn't mean you're being scammed; she could be the nicest and most honest person in the universe (other than my wife ).

Having said all that, you don't have to ship EMS.

An Aussie confirmed address may mean something to the Aussie seller when it comes to seller protection, just like a confirmed US address to US seller.

Well it didn't work after all. I downloaded what they said I needed but I still could not print the label. I had my friend set up my computer and his copy of windows didn't include any software for office or stuff like that so I have to live without international shipping label for the time being.
Thanks anyway for the help!!

Sounds like a good time to mention Endicia internet postage. I have been using it for a while now and don't know how I lived without it before. You can do ALL and I mean ALL class's of postage for international and domestic. Even International letter post and M-Bag. So much faster than PayPal, access to discounted insurance at time of postage purchase, fully customizable labels you can even put your logo on. And the list goes on and on.

In my opinion PayPal can keep their cheesey postage system. You couldn't pry Endicia away from me.

Actually doesn't matter as all sales to Australia are NOT covered by PayPal's SPP. Provided your buyer has good recent feedback it shouldn't be a problem.
