Maybe most of you who use IRFAN already know about the key shortcuts but I thought I would post just in case - I keep finding new "goodies" in the IRFAN program!
Short-cut Keys:
CTRL+Y=CROP
R=ROTATE RIGHT
L=ROTATE LEFT
SHIFT+S= SHARPEN
S=Save
SHIFT+R=REOPEN
You can move to the next image by using your scroll on your mouse
***************************************
I recently discovered "Image-FINE ROTATION" which lets me straighten out my crooked scans (CTRL+U)
******************************
For making logos, banners - even template borders:
"Image->Create Panoramic Images"
* You can combine images and text by putting text in an image (By using "IMAGE->CREATE EMPTY IMAGE" and insert text in the empty image by using "EDIT_>insert text in selection, save as image)
******************************
Sometimes I forget to erase the price from the back of a postcard - to take the writing off the image I draw a box around a "clean" part of the image of the same color and "COPY" (CTRL+C) then I draw a box around the place I want to clean up and use "Edit->Paste" and VOILA! writing is GONE!!

Did you know this one Shift+/A starts and stops a slide show.
I love that one but I know I can use the one you just posted as well.

IrfanView is no photoshop but it is a nifty FREE utility application that lets you manipulate photos and scans without a steep learning curve. I usually launch my scans from Irfanview, batch rename (I add the date to all my scans), crop, occasionally sharpen or color enhance, sometimes resize. You can also add text to pictures easily, and a a bunch of other stuff. Definitely worth the money (did I mention that it's FREE?)
