The pot is about ten inches tall, oval shaped but it is round at the base and the pattern wraps around. I have had this pot for about ten years, packed away and it's time to sell it but I cannot tell what the mark actually reads as. To me it looks like Mitchfield, Hatchfield or it could be Hatchifrienl or something else. I don't know what it is. There are no other identifying makrs on it.

Looks like Mitchfield to me, but it could be Litchfield, which is a much more common surname. Just a fancy L? Or Witchfield?

I thought it said Hutchfield, but can not find any references for them. I believe the style of vase is called a pillow vase. Is the signature glazed or just grease pencil?
It looks like studio pottery to me, if so, it could be very hard to ID.
Ask on the pottery board at ebay. Maybe you'll get lucky and someone familiar with the artist will pop in.

Thanks, all for your input. I'll keep searching and I may post this on an Ebay board as LtRay suggested. If I find out what it is, i'll let you know.
looking at it more it kind of looks like it could be McTulifrihl. Whatever that is.
