I had someone buy 27 games from my store to send to a daughter in another state. She even ask the daughter for a list to pick them out by. I give her 3 free games, combine on shipping which I lost on and I payed for the insurance and delivery confirmation. I sent them Priority and she gets them today. I get this E-Mail today.
I recieved a package in the mail today filled with Nintendo games. I
had
asked my mother to please send me some of the old ones that we had
around
the house since I knew no one in that house was playing them anymore.
My
mother couldn't find my old games in either the attic or basement but a
week
later sent me a message telling me to pick out which games I wanted.
Even
though I hadn't heard of half the titles she mentioned she is the Tag
Sale
Queen and I just assumed she had accumulated them through out the
years. I
did not know that she was PURCHASING them all from you off of ebay.
She
wound up spending over $70 in dorky old Nintendo games and they REALLY
are
not that important or valuable to me. I am only intersted in keeping
the
ones that she paid less than a dollar for, since that is all they are
worth
to me and I know she would loose out on the shipping if I were to
merely
return them all. I just want a confirmation that you will honor a
refund
on all the games that I ship back to you.
I will be sending back all items to the return address listed on the
box,
auction number: $4.95
auction number: $4.95
auction number: $5.95
auction number: $3.50
auction number: $3.50
auction number: $3.50
auction number: $5.95
auction number: $3.50
auction number: $3.50
auction number: $3.50
auction number: $1.88
auction number: $3.50
Total Expected Returned Refund: $48.18
Sorry about the return, but my mother always finds a way to make sure I
have
everything I want. But this I just don't need!!
Thanks,
Very Ungreatful Daughter

I'd give her the refund. I don't think you want this M & D team in your life!

I did send the e-mail to Mother dearest. I think this dumb cluck daughter is trying to get a $50.00 check and doesn't realize the money has to go back to mommy's paypal account. I don't see why I should give her anything and loose my ass on the transaction. If I get a negative,I'll put it in the cats litter box along with a copy of the e-mail.

I intended to mention, the mother bought and paid for the items. She is your customer and the only one you should deal with. Ignore the daughter and block further emails from her.

Dear seller, my Mom bought your hideous swim suit and had you ship it to me. I don't like it and don't want it and I know you will be happy to accept it in return for the money Mom paid for it.
Dear Buyer's daughter. I am not Walmart, Kmart or Sears. I do not sell on approval and I do not refund on "gifts". I'm sorry you did not like the items your Mother purchased, but sales on ebay are binding contracts. Your Mom bought the item, paid for it and I shipped. The transaction between your Mother and I is now complete. I'm sorry you are not happy with your Mother's actions, but I suggest you take that up with her and not me.
MAH, even if they paid with Paypal , they now have no recourse. Their email confirms that they have received the merchandise.

The "message" I'm sure was a link, list, of your auctions. I just can't see Mom typing out a list of 27 or more games. The daughter chose these herself & changed her mind on any that were over a dollar.
If you refund I hope you say return all or nothing.
sparkz is right, deal only with the Mother, she is your customer.
So many return requests are remorseful buyers that don't own up & put the blame on someone else like the 5 year old who bid & did a BIN in another post.

If you want to APPEAR accomodating you could answer that you would take the games back but that you will have to charge a rather stiff restocking fee that will at least make you "whole" (ie: your added shipping expense, insurance, dc, listing, FVF fees) and clarify that any refund would go to her mother's PayPal account. She probably won't think it's worth it.

Do you honor returns for your games?

To parody a recent post:
My response would have been:
Hi-I am emailing regarding your feedback for this ebay item. I just saw on my computer that my blithering idiot of a mother walked over to the keyboard while I was logged in and left your mother a very nasty negative feedback. I'm not sure how, but she managed the lucidity to type some weird combination of keys. Who would have thought she could still spell "syphilitic senility"? That darn mom!
I am very sorry that this has happened.

How did the daughter know who to email?
Did you include a packing list with your eBay ID or email address?
What I'm concerned about is that Mom (that ol' softie) gives Twit Daughter access to her PayPal account. In that case, she can force a SNAD return, though she will have to pay for shipping them back.
She is, of course, hoping you'll just refund the money on her say-so because that's the way greedy self-centered high-maintenance princesses think. You just wait, whatever your response is, her followup will be to accuse you of having lousy customer service and ripping her mother off. I'm sick of it.
I'd send her a sharp tack and tell her to sit on it.

Mom sent me an E-Mail this morning apologizing for the actions of her spoiled daughter. She said she wanted no refund and said she would never try to help her daughter again. I can only imagine the phone call the daughter got this morning. Mom is MAD!

What was so precious about this transaction was that the daughter visited my store and picked out what she wanted and then e-mailed mom. The daughter had first sent me an E-Mail giving me a list of the games and told me to send her a Paypal invoice. I told her that was against E-Bay rules, I wasn't about to cheat them out of any fees. I take it the daughter didn't have a E-Bay account nor a Paypal account. I don't think she can get in Mommy's.

Could this be a case of Dr.Jkyll and Mr.Hyde?
Ask mom how she spells 'ungrateful'!

I'd tell her that I do not accept returns, but in her case I would allow it with a 20% restocking fee, if her mom agrees.
(and make sure the money goes back to her mom, not her!)

I'd also require her to return the 3 games you added for free.

I have a better idea...
Tell her to send the games back to her mom, so that her mom can relist them on ebay and make her money back.
