I am wondering if someone here can suggest an alternate site to host my photos.
I am currently using STREAMLOAD.COM; with their service, I can create folders for my photos (ie JUNE1, JUNE8, JUNE15, etc) and I really like that because it offers organization.
The other thing I really like about them is that when I upload the photos, the photo names remain the same; the names don't get converted to a long stream of letters and numbers. this is great because I can easily write the URL of my photos into my descriptions (something like 'streamload/username/june1/carphoto.jpg').
Unfortunately, streamload is constantly going down. Despite many months of complaints to them the problem is still ongoing and I think its time to move on.
I have used VENDIO, but the photos expire after a certain amount of time; i don't like that aspect. thanks.
Can anyone suggest another site that is similar to what I"ve described above that is not overly expensive ($10-15 per month), unlimited?

You might want to give Vendio another try.
It has all the features you mentioned, plus they now have an auto-renew feature which will keep your photos until you delete them.

Vendio changed that about a year ago. You can now click to have the photos automatically renewed. It's great! Very rarely have they gone down.

all of the above and Vendio photo hosting CAN be free if your photo imaging requirements are in line with your use of their listing services etc. - you need to study the various plans to get the most for your $

well, the other problem I have with vendio is that I don't list my auctions from here. Can I host my files and get a good flat rate?
$7.95 a month gets 10,000 Megs (10 Gig) of storage space, free domain name, email, and a full website if you choose to take advantage of all the features.
It's a great deal, even if all you want is image space.
And since you manage all the image files yourself, you can put them in whatever folders or method of organization you like, delete them when YOU want, etc.

Paloma, yes I have used them for three different websites over the years, including my main one right now.
My auction company charges depending on the total disk space I use for my images so I host them on iPowerweb instead. It works great- I have essentially unlimited space, and don't have to worry about my auction company charging me for photo hosting.
Ipowerweb is not a "photo hosting site" exactly, it's a full web hosting company. If all you want to do is host photos there, that's fine- they're very reliable. But if you eventually want a full ecommerce website, you just need to turn on those features (at no extra cost).
They've been around for years and have huge numbers of users. They are also VERY reliable- I have NEVER spotted one of my auctions with a broken picture.
I have never understood why so many eBay sellers rely on those "free" picture hosts when you can get so much more service and so many extra features for so little money.
