Just... Say.... NO.... !!!!

A. They want you to forget all those auctions from last week that did not sell and you can now relist and get a refund of relisting fees.

B. If you jump on the 50 % band wagon, you will never see another 2o Cent listing day again.

C. Makes me wonder if they made their numbers last week? They usually do not run specials back to back like this.

Another bone to make us forget (temporarily) about the store fee hikes.

Yeah and notice that everytime recently that they have a sale there are less and less people selling stuff. Counts just keep going down, down, down.

50% off is LESS than 20 cents for the majority of my items...I think we will see more of these specials with the new emphasis on CORE site. Might as well figure them as part of your business plan so you know how to use them (or not) to your advantage when they come around. I have to admit that I still don't know how I will use them this time because I launched 500 relists last go round(I was pretty happy with the results).

The beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning?

A couple of days back eBay's number 11 seller (by feedback), casacaiman, let all of their store listings expire and only had 1500 or so listings up (compared to hundreds of thousands previously). eBay's Powerseller board was running rampant with speculation that they are done and leaving eBay.

Last one out the door please turn off the light...

I noticed a few weeks ago that the Canadian site had an offer where you could transfer store items onto regular auctions for free for 1 day. I am not allowed to get the Canadian offer notices because when I registered with eBay 10 years ago, I registered on the US site, so I usually miss them even though I now live in Canada. I thought at the time it was an interesting offer, and I am wondering if the US site will do something like that.

Just got a big box of vintage sewing patterns and this seems a good day to list them without racking up a lot of fees. And since I'm still store sitting (see another thread), unless things change drastically in customer flow, it will give me something to do.

Anyone else notice that for the first time in a LONG time, they've excluded fixed price listings from their sale. Any bets that after they destroy the Stores, they'll work on getting rid of fixed price next? I'm wondering if it goes back to the lawsuit that they lost with MercExchange...

If I remember right, the Supreme court reversed the injunction in May... but they sent it back to the trial court for reconsideration. Is eBay worried that they'll lose again?

So the big question... is eBay trying to bring back the "magic"... or do you think they're scared that their entire buy-it-now process is going to get pulled out from under them, and they're trying to premptively make the switch back to an auction only site?

I thought ebay won the case??
I will take advantage of the 1/2 off listing and would love more specials like this. I just wish there was more notice - I'll be pulling an all nighter now!!!

Amber, if you are a resident of Canada you are eligible for the Canadian promos even if you list on .com

To confirm just contact ebay.ca.

I did well on that special to send items from Store to Auctions for free. It was great as I was in the process of closing my store at the time.

ebay did win the Supreme Court case. The Supreme Court case number is 05-130 and a quick check of the Supreme Court website shows the decision http://www.supremecourtus.gov/opinions/05pdf/05-130.pdf

And here's a copy of the court transcript. http://www.supremecourtus.gov/oral_arguments/argument_transcripts/05-130.pdf

Yes, eBay did "win" the supreme court decision, in a sense... but the issue has not been resolved. You will notice that the Supreme court has sent it back down to the lower courts to be retried with accordance to the issues they raised. In other words... it's not over yet...

YEP, they won it! It was, as about 75% of ALL court cases of this nature - frivolous

Yup, the Supreme Court saw it for what it was. A company pattenting something they had no intention of using and having only the purpose to use it in the future in a lawsuit for infringment right's. Scumbag's love playing the copyright and pattent game.

otterop: I wrote to eBay.ca to ask if I could get notices from them, and they told me no, because I was registerd on eBay.com, and could only get notices from them unless I changed my registration to eBay.ca
