Hi, all: I'd like to list a bunch of LPs that are clogging my office. I'd like information from someone here who does that, re: how would I get paid, how long do the records stay listed, etc.

That is one of the sites I use to research my Lps but have never listed there. I am having so so luck on ebay with the records right now.

Back when I did music, I sold quite a lot through them. That was three or more years ago, however, so things may have changed. But they used to be very good.

Good! How were you paid? I would rather not accept credit cards personally but would like a service like PayPal.

You get paid any which way you want to be paid. We accepted pretty much everything. MOST of the customers just sent their credit card info which we put into our store terminal.
Paypal existed at the time, but it wasn't as big as it is now, so they may have made it more Paypal-centric since then. I don't know for sure.
If it's still free (except for FVF) and you can do the bulk-loader, then I'd say it is probably worth a try.

Dr Arcane:
"You get paid any which way you want to be paid."
Would this mean that buyers could send you personal checks, money orders, etc, if you didn't want to accept credit cards? If I were to sign up as a seller, would the site tell me what my options are? I tried once and didn't see what I was looking for.

Sure you can do that, but before you did, you should ask yourself how many internet buyers are going to buy from a place that doesn't take plastic?
eBay is one thing. Everyone knows eBay has lots of small sellers, and it is possible (though difficult) to make sales without Paypal or credit cards. But GEMM is supposed to be a place for "real" music stores, not individual sellers.
There is an easy way around this. Did you know that Paypal offers an option called "Virtual Terminal" that allows you to directly input customers credit card numbers and get paid?

No, I definitely did not know that. Never having owned or worked in a brick and mortar store, I'm uncomfortable thinking about customers using their credit cards directly with me. You've given me something to think about. Thanks.

I'm not trying to sound critical, but you'll have a VERY hard time making it off-eBay without credit card processing abilities. I've found some customers who want to use Paypal, but most off-eBay sales are paid for with credit cards.

I know that you're right! If I want to move in new directions (and I'm not completely convinced I want to do that), I'll have to go the next step.
