Did you log in or just go to the site? The home page comes up, but will not go to the log in page.

If you have an account with Craigslist then the problem is likely the result of corrupted cookies (nothing to do with the slightly-used monkey p0rn you offer) . Delete the Craigslist cookies in your browser, quit then restart your browser and login to Craigslist again. Problem solved...

Just a heads up for anyone using Craigslist. There is a local resident in the Tulare County Jail awaiting transfer to Santa Clara County. He is charged with 13 felonies, including armed robbery, assault and a host of others. He would choose his victims by purchasing something off Craigslist from people in the San Jose area. When he showed up to pay them and get his item, he would pull a gun and rob them. Just a word to the wise to be careful when dealing with strangers.

sparkz - thanks for the timely notice. It is something we should all be wary of.

Surely there's another way to get paid for your item besides letting the buyer pay you in person at your home???? Or does Craigslist not allow PayPal. But then there's always the option of sending payment to an address--rather than *bringing* it there. Many of us would never allow a buyer to come to our homes.

Craig's list is more an alternative to classified advertising / garage sales than an eBay alternative. People shop locally rather than waiting for shipments. Worked great when I bought my automatic kitty litter box!

You face the same danger with strangers at every garage sale you run. When selling items for cash at pickup it's always a good idea to meet in a very public place with loads of people around, or have a friend in toe if you are of a nervous persuasion.

Or you can just do what I do. Get a CCW permit and wear a 357 Magnum on your hip. Amazing crime deterent.
