Any help will be apprecaited.

I wouldm't call it a sampler. I believe it's a quilt showing a wedding scene.

Asian of some kind. See the clothes and hats.

I doubt Asian in origin. Crosses on church, white wedding dress....
The rays of the sun have a "running stitch", is that part of the alphabet on the right? It could (read could) be a sampler of sorts. The scene is appliqued. The fabric pieces have turned under edges and does not look machine stitched. Can't see enough to see if older or not.

I was thinking Mexican/South American Folk Art. Look at the architecture. Maybe it's an Asian version of South of the border folk art?? LOL

The building's look more like adobe building's from a desert type culture like Mexican or Arabic. The cloths also look more Arabic then Asian to me. What is the word under the right house? Looks to start with Adel.

I have seen a lot of this style of applique in Texas markets that sell Mexican and South American crafts. I almost bought a jacket with a wedding scene that was something like this because there was a man with a view camera photographing the wedding. It was heavy wool and rather expensive so I talked myself out of it.

Is there a teeny tiny pocket sewn to one corner of the back side?

My first thought also was Eastern European. An attractive piece.
Let us all know what you discover.

I asked about the pocket because I have one very similar and on the back there is a tiny pocket with a note inside (written by the artist) that describes the scene and gives a blessing. The note is in Spanish.
I guess Mexican or Peruvian.

The word "ADELA" is spelled under the house.
Yeah, it does look Eastern European to me. I am still cluless, was hoping to figure out how old is it, what's the value, and is there a special name fot this type of work.
Thanks again to everyone!

I'm sorry, Cherachael, I thought that was what we were trying to help you with since most of us don't know what it is either.
I'm not Catholic, but you might try this website in reards to the name Adela and go from there on a google search.
I don't think its old. And it might be "weird" but its needle work in which they might have been practicing various stitches.

A quick search for Adela quilts revealed this artist. It might be a Peruvian Textile folk art tapestrie / 3-D Arpillera Art Quilt.
The Adela quilt they have displayed is the "Noah's Ark" by Adela and is the 4th one pictured.

I would assume that this is a wedding scene but what kind of clothes is the groom in red wearing? And the black hat? It still does not look Peruvian to me because of the clothes. I would assume the guy in black on the left is the priest.
