YOu won't believe this C)^#^@^$%@! Yes, I am fuming. Not only have they screwed up ebay more than usual but GRRRRR.....

Ebay live just told me that if you have a store item that is set to be live 'til canceled that you cannot go in and change it to say, a month run only. You have to cancel it and create a whole new listing. What a waste of time.

Paloma - I found out the same thing. It's a PIA. I've closed my store anyway. If you want to bulk cancel, go to http://www.vrane.com They have a bulk cancel tool.

Ok I'll be the first to admit that I am not the brightest bulb on the block but I don't follow you at all, Paloma.
I have Good til cancelled for my store listing. What do they planned to do now?? Are they going to cancel all my store items then I will have to relist them at the new price fee? What a crock if they plan to do that???

I spoke to one of the store helpers. He said that they are losing money on our store listings due to the fact that it costs them more to host them than they make on them. I suggested that they beef up their store search capabilites. Of course, that would take some effort and money to do that on their part which they won't do. Quick fix and quick money is what they are about.

He also confirmed that if you have a store item that was listed with an auto renewal, you must cancel it and create a new listing to list as a 30 day'er. I planned to do that for about 1/2 of items I have up now. IF they dont' sell, they get tossed in the g sale pile or wait 'til I have time to work on my site. So much wasted time. Atleast on other sites, you can go back and forth with just a click of a button. Too bad their site designers are such idiots.

Thanks for letting me rant. I really needed to do that. It's very hard to type right now. I can only type with 1 hand. I broke my shoulder and dislocated my arm from the shoulder socket a few days ago. Not fun. I guess that just kind of added to my emotional state.

I, too, noticed that you can't edit the ebay store items to go to 30 day listings from GTC. So, every morning before I start work, I eyeball the ones closing today. If it looks like it is not getting hits, nothing like it has sold, etc. I close them and then list to my vendio store. If you do re-list it on ebay, try and change your title. The search engine is more likely to pick it up if it is changed up a little.

I'm watching the thousands of items in my competitors stores to see what they do. There are folks with 20K items selling for less than $5 each.

I'm not so sure it's an accidental software problem, and if it is, it's one they prolly won't fix, inline with top management's decision to prod people to downsize store listings by making life harder and more expensive for store owners.

It's very hard to type right now. I can only type with 1 hand. I broke my shoulder and dislocated my arm from the shoulder socket a few days ago.

Gosh! Is Paloma a dedicted poster and here for us, or what? Please rest, recuperate and I hope you heal quickly.

OK, I am a bit confused now because I thought all GTC listings were basically 30 days listings, that if they don't sell, are just re-listed again automatically.

If they canceled all these listings, you would think they would be taking a big chance. Wouldn't it make much more sense to just charge GTC listings the new fee amount once the original 30 days is up and they go to be auto-listed again? This way they are at least guaranteed the new fee amounts for all these listings rather than have them canceled and risk never to be listed again? Are they really losing that much $$ on store listings to be able to have this happen?

If you want to participate in the eBay promo today and tomorrow, you could send the GTC listings to auction and when they end, send the unsold ones to the store as 30 day listings.

Well this is new because I just changed some of my store items to 30 days only last month. Not a problem - then.
If ebay want to do away with the stores why the heck don't they just do it?

Wish me luck. I go to the dr's in about an hour. I know they are going to have to put the bone back in joint. Will be interesting to see how they do that.

I am not going to participate in the funky wannabe discount freakin' Promo day. I think it's a sham to put it mildly. (As you can tell, I am NOT happy at all) I moved it all to 30 day only with no auto relist. That will give me 30 days to figure out what I am going to do. Kind of buy me some time to set up a plan and impliment it.
