Well, this must be National Stupid Buttocks week! I have had some real Stupid Buttocks questions ,excuses and one real Stupid Buttock complaint.

The complaint from a buyer who received her item:

Hi
I received the item today..I really like it, and the fast service....
I paid for insurance which I see you only added delivery confirmation which only costs .50, and didn't insure it.
I have had a business from home for over 30 years, and I know shipping costs. I want an answer, before I neg you. You deceived me by charging insurance and did not put it on the package .Looking forward to hearing from you..
``````````````````````````````````````````````
Well as always my typing fingers acted just like my mouth they spit out exactly how I felt.
First I explained I print my own thermal labels through Endicia and the package was insured. I sent her a copy of the transaction with Endicia , showing it was insured .
I then told her DC was included online postage.
As you have had a home business for over 30 years , you must realize that many use online postage services. I hope that clears up your misunderstanding.
I really do not appreciate being accused of deception ! The fact is your package was insured.
Have a great evening,
Judi
`````````````````````````````````````````````````

This is the first time I have had this happened .Have not heard from her today, but she probably will still not understand .

Have anyone ever had this happen?

You were much nicer than I would have been.

Dear SB,

Your package was insured, just not with the Postal Service. We use a different insurer who provides better service.

By the way, we reciprocate all negative feedback. Choose wisely.

I think you were rather nice about it. I to like fLuff don't take kindly to being called a theif and accused of lying.

My email response probably would have been something like fLuff's with the addition of the proof that I insured the package (which you did).

I have had questions from buyers before about insurance and that they payed for it and was not displayed on the package. I also use endicia to print postage and buy my insurance through them. Can't say I have ever had a question like the one you got though. I usually just reply and explain how their package is insured and provide them with a copy of the endicia receipt.

About a year ago I started stamping all my insured packages with the word INSURED. I had a custom rubber stamp made for this purpose. I think the number of "Was my package insured" questions I get has drastically droped. Just seing the word stamped on the box seems to put minds to rest. It was a well invested $7 for the stamp in my opinion.

I have several different packing slips One for insured items. It has the endicia logo and these words: Insurance provided by: (insert the endicia logo). Please save all packing material if we need to make a claim.

This can be placed at the top or bottom of your packaing slip. Never had anyone doubt that there package was insured or ask me about it.

Be careful when you are stamping the outside of your packages with "Insured" as at least one insurance company (DSI) has specific instructions against doing so.

Outward indication that a package is insured might also be an invitation to rifle.

With DSI, they provide professionally produced package inserts (about 2"x3" or so) that explains that the package is insured and instructs the recipient that they can verify it by checking their web site.

We are careful to be sure to include one of these free inserts into insured packages.

Just a word of caution before stamping away.

She gave be great positive feedback . She even email thanking me saying she appreciated me explaining that insurance did not always show on the box.
I had sent her the postage information on the transaction.

Sometimes, things go smooth for weeks . Then like Kudzu gone crazy, it is a problem or complaint everywhere.
I guess those not living in the South may not know what Kudzu is (hehe)

It was a week of -
Bids by unregistered eBay users - which I found was perfectly all right .

Accused of not putting insurance on a package -which I did

Boyfriend of customer(not my DH - a customers!) thought item was to sleazy (gosh it was almost matronly) . I did not pick out what she bid on, nor did I click the buy it now button ! She decided to keep it and wear it when he was not around .

I felt like emailing -HE WOULD NEVER BE AROUND TELLING
ME WHAT TO WEAR !
But, I did not say anything -I do not have time to play Dr Phil .

Anyway Stupid Buttocks week is winding down -I HOPE

I would be tempted to give her less than perfect FB or at the very least give her positive but something like "Please re-frame from calling sellers deceptive before you have all the facts"
It's probably better to just let it go as she could be a return customer.
It's been a week for NSB's for me as well.

Glad it worked out for you...I use DSI and have a flat rate that covers every package...Per their requirements, I do not stamp insured on the package. Since I calculate this in the cost of shipping and handling, I don't even give people the option of purchasing insurance.

I don't understand why people care about things like that if they get the package, and everything is ok...as long as the seller is upfront about the shipping charges, it shouldn't matter how the item was shipped as long as it arrives safe, and in a timely fashion

Way to go!!! You handled it correctly. If you would have done like fluffy, you would have guaranteed a negative and for sure lost a future customer. I can see how this buyer could be mislead. There are many sellers on ebay like fluffy who don't give a rats azz about buyers. They want the money and don't want to back it up with customer service. duer, you are a credit to all reputable sellers. You can bet if you have something else this buyer wants, they will be back.
