This mark in on the bottom of a white china plate. Does anyone recognize it? Thanks for any help!

Thanks, Lt.Ray...GREAT site...but didn't see this particular mark...checked 'em all...maybe I missed it? I'll try again...thanks...Anyone else have any info?

I haven't had time to do any looking for you, but you might also want to check the French listings. The Germany mark is probably pre- 1930 judging from the typeface/stencil style. The plate could be a French blank that was decorated in Germany.

It was not unusual for china blanks (plain) to be exported for decoration. That is why you find so many Limoges plates with different country marks.

You might want to show the front of the plate and it might give some clue as to period.

I checked my books. I tried both as a "beehive" and as a "shield". I then browsed the photos of various marks. Sorry, no help. I have a few others I'll try later.

I think I heard sometime ago that "Germany" (in English, not German) would mean it was made as an import/export item. And same for other countries. Could be wrong. Just got back from a week's trip to Phoenix and don't have the energy to unpack, let alone make sense here!
