My earlier mention of Sellathon reminded me of some features I haven't seen talked about much.

If you go to this auction:

Pure silver lacy flower necklace

...and page down to the bottom, there's a Sellathon link that will take you to a Popularity Gallery.

You can look at my items based on Most Visits, Most Bids, Most (bleah) Watches, Most Snipes Set, etc. Kind of interesting.

I am not at all sure that making this information available to bidders is a good idea for sellers. I'd be interested in your comments.

The most snipes set is interesting. That would be something I would like to see as a seller. As a buyer...I wonder if it would discourage bidding or encourage a higher bid?

As the seller, you have complete control over which views of the Popularity Gallery you want to make public.

For example, I've turned off public access to Most Snipes Set. Of course I can still see the information on my Sellathon page.

Oh...I see now. So how long have you been using this feature and does Sellathon track how many clicks you get on your auction pages thru them?

Amy, quite truthfully I've never paid much attention to it. I played with the Popularity Gallery a bit at first but couldn't quite figure out what the benefit was to me, the seller. I suppose it would help if I actually had Gallery pictures for all my stuff.

Yep, Sellathon keeps track of the clicks you get but that's only the beginning. See my note in another thread where I was able to determine that a buyer had bought several of my things by clicking on the cross-promotions on the bottom of the auction page. That's a good thing to know if you like to manage your cross-promotions. Another item she found by looking at my seller list. That's a pattern that recurs in auction after auction.
