Please check out closed auction 8352160338. Click on Purchases. Notice that the purchase has expired? is this one of those new types of auctions that you can set your own price? I thought it was a store item or a "buy it now"

It's late. Maybe that's the problem. I just can't figure this out

Seler must have had Best Offer on the item.

That is not an expired purchase, but an expired offer.

Agreed. For some reason, the offer history isn't as detailed as that on this item of mine:

Tiffany tea caddy

Though that could be because the OP's auction is from January 2006, before Best Offer was rolled out site-wide.

Fluff, when you use the best offer option, is the listing up for 7 days as other ebay listings go? or do you have the option to list it for a longer time period?

Best Offer doesn't do anything to change the duration.

Well, okay, that is unless/until someone's offer is accepted.

But that's also true of a Buy It Now.

Remember, you can set the duration of the offer - I believe from 1-7 days.

Thanks everyone for the info. I may use that option on one of my items in the future.
