Haven't been around for the last few weeks due to an accident I experienced at my workplace. The company I work for is doing construction and the construction company built a new 8 inch step. No warning signs - the granite tile on the step matches the floor and the grout lines match so when you open the door and walk in it appears to your eye that the surface is flat - it is not!!! I walked right off the step and landed on the right side of my head. The force blew my right ear apart and damaged my right eye amongst other areas of the right side of my body. I have been down for awhile and have certainly have collected my share of negs because of unshipped items. Some buyers have been very understanding and others have called me a flat out liar. I should have sent those buyers one of the pictures my husband took of me with a shredded ear and my right eye completely swollen shut.
Oh well - maybe due to the loss of hearing in my ear I wont be able to hear those buyers #*!@!!!

I am so sorry to hear that, I sure hope the construction company or your workplace is covering the damages to your person. I know they can't help with eBay feedback but I sure wish they could. Anyone could be in your place at anytime and people should be understanding.

In the last ten years of selling I've experienced misfortunes: Dad died, Stepdad died, flat on my back in bed for a week with a virus, surgery, etc.
At first I tried to explain to buyers why their package was delayed. I found, as you did, there is a portion of the population that becomes enraged by this information.
You're withholding their baba. They want it. They want it now.
I no longer explain the reason for any delay. Keeping quiet minimizes the vicious behavior. It may seem a simple thing to expect people to act like adults. Trouble is, some people are not up to it.

Sure sorry to hear of your accident. Hope you get well soon or at least better. Is your ear going to get ok or is permanent? Sounds like you are lucky to still be with us hitting your head is very dangerous.
So far I have not had anyone not understand these kinds of delays. LOL yep send them a picture of your head then leave them negative feedback maybe they will do a feedback withdrawal that way. Kidding but is a thought.
************** Check it out

Ouch! is right! Our thoughts and empathy are with you!
When my folks passed away (two years apart and 500 miles from where I live) and later, when I was hospitalized with pneumonia for a week, I, too, had some disgruntled customers. As soon as I was able to get back on the computer I notified them all of the situation(s) and shipped their products at my expense. In each package I included their shipping fees in an envelope with a note of apology for the unexpected delay. Every one of my customers were appreciative – and understanding – of the problem.
Yes, I lost a few $$$ by refunding their shipping fees, but many returned and bought again. In the long run, I gained more sales, rather than loss of sales from the neg feedback. Those who returned left GREAT feedback for their new purchases.
Communication is the key!
As a buyer, I received notice from the daughter of a seller that her mother (the seller) had been in a car accident and was hospitalized. She was letting all buyers know their product would be shipped as “soon as we figure out her system”. My package arrived much later than expected, but it came well packed and included a note of appreciation for understanding.
As a result of my previous experiences and the note from that seller’s daughter, my own daughter knows my system backwards and forwards. Should anything happen, again, that I could not run my on-line business, Deb would be here in a jiff and control the computer while my hubby would be running the inventory/shipping end of the business (which he knows well).
We remember to back-up our computers, buy often forget that our “working systems” need back-up, too.

You could request feedback removal from the buyers that gave the negs. If they've received their items, then they might be understanding.
