Just what we need. Sounds like a good idea for eBay Motors, but not so good idea for everything else.

Will this encourage bidders to expect that they can pick up an item in person so they can avoid shipping and handling?

Or will it be a good thing and encourage those of us who don't sell large things because we don't want to ship them? I know I would probably buy bigger things if I could pick them up (yes, I know you can do that now but knowing ahead of time the item is close would make me be inclined to search).

Seems OK for large items.

I don't care to be hounded by people hoping to bid on 1 cent items because they they think they can avoid shipping and handling.

Also, many sellers live a fair distance to where their post office boxes are located.

Yes, mine was 24 miles away, in a different county. Gave me a chuckle every time someone wanted to arrange an in-person pickup on a piece of 99 cent jewelry.

This could help sellers like Amy, though, if she decides to eBay that guy's construction project leftovers, or my friend Dave, who has a bunch of large power tools he wants me to sell for him.
