When you buy USPS postage and print a label through Paypal, what comes up on the screen for printing? Do you need special paper, or can you use regular copy paper and tape the label/postage on the package?
I tried it out but you can't see what will print until you pay.

You can print on labels that are 2 to sheet self sticky ones it will print on just one label and is size of half a sheet. OR you can use plain paper fold in half or cut and tape to package. NOW don't use the self sticking labels if printing UPS cause the label falls down to almost the middle of full sheet and will print part on one label and other part other label . I goofed just once doing that not knowing so use plain paper if printing UPS labels. Wish they would fix that part but hey it is easy.
Another tip if printing at Fed Ex good idea to print one label off a sheet and keep several self sticking labels sheets like that ( 1 label to sheet after printing at PP safe that one label on full sheet) for printing cause their print out puts label at top with other frivolous crap at bottom half so you will ruin one label if you load a full 2 label sheet into the printer for fed ex. I have never found a setting to stop that frivolous crap from printing. Oh well .

I print using regular paper. One half is the label, the other half is the receipt (with address shipped to and conf. numbers, etc). I file this half, after jotting down the item's name on it.
When I tape the "label" to the package, I don't tape over any of the "bar codes". I do tape around the label (so they don't catch on something and tear) and over the address.
If you are a "big seller", something else may be better, but this works for me.

I tape over the bar code with clear package sealing tape and they scan just fine at the post office. I think they put that statement on there for folks that try to use masking tape. :^)

Thanx. My next question is this: It looks like you also are required to purchase Delivery confirmation for 14 cents with PP/USPS, as there's no way to unselect it. True?
And my 3rd question is: If you do your postage online through PP, can you just leave your packages in your mailbox to be picked up by the letter carrier?

I think that rule for package being at least 3/4 inch thick still applies to anything with DC on it. I use the brown tan envelopes or the bubble ones if shipping flat stuff if plain envelope brown no bubble liner I put 2-4-6 peanuts in it to make it fatter. I think this is still a requirement for DC. Not the peanuts required just the thickness.
Before using PP printing I used Stamps.com and if I mailed anything in regular envelope I could not use DC, tried it once and had to go redo it before sending.
