Hey Paloma, The only thing I could find was on a mystery mark site ,way down the page FAR FAN mark
http://www.modernsilver.com/MYSTMARKS.html

It reads "Check the information in "The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and
Hallmarks". by Billie Hougart. According to the book on Page 117, "Eagle
Number 13 (William Spratling) has been seen on items of other well-known
maker, including Los Ballesteros. FAR FAN and Antonio Pineda. Eagle 13 was
assigned to Spratling for his own use, and for his designs made at
Conquistador, and should not be expected to appear on non-Spratling items."
According to the book, FAR FAN was a jewelry maker in Mexico City."

Thanks very much Toast. That's a great start. I think both of these pieces are from mexico city . The D F after Mexico stands for districto federal which is Mexico city. I wish I could find out more on these.

What are the pieces? Is it jewelry? Why not post a photo of the whole things?

I could but then you wouldn't see the marks. It's the marks I am trying to ID. Would it help to see a foto of the jewelery?

I checked one of my books on silver jewelry and didn't see anything under the Mexican section to match your marks. There are so many Mexican silver jewelry makers that you may never really ID it. If you could date the pieces that would help in the listing. Are the pieces big - gram weight helps sell as well.
Photo may help someone give you more information than the marks do. Style-time period-weight are what really sells this type of jewelry unless it's made by one of the top 10 or 20 makers - which I don't believe is the case here.
I just sold a modern piece of Mexican Sterling for over $200 - you could have knocked me over with a feather!!!

Yes it was on feebay. I started it for $34.95 and would have been happy with that. This was the first of October or Sept I think. I didn't put the weight until someone asked me for it and told me it was important in the listing.
You don't even want to know what I paid for it at a garage sale!!!
