Sales are terrific and I don't know what these "hidden fees" are you are talking about.

It's not hard to calculate a profit when you're not making one. You have only 15 feedbacks for Oct 06; assume a 50% laziness rate in people leaving feedbacks, that's still only 30 sales. By the time you're finished covering your costs, well...

You might sell more if you didn't advertise FREE shipping in your auctions and then turn around and charge for shipping.

I stopped counting listing violations after five (website link on auction page, illegal direct links to Vendio, your email address on auction page, another link to libertyauctions.com on auction page, conflicting shipping fees).

The "About Us" section is obviously stolen from another seller since it is free of the egregious spelling errors and bad grammar rampant elsewhere in your auctions...at least down to the paragraph where you inserted your own business's name.

Here is the auction I used as an example:

Perhaps his sales would be higher if, instead of selling watches with bands connected to the face at 12 and 6, he sold watches with the bands connected at, say, 2 and 8.

It's the unique product that catches the buyer's eye, you know.

$15.000 versus $15,000
$12.000 VERSUS $12,000
No wonder you are losing money!

I'm doing a post-mortem of how well a competitor did on 20 cent listing day. He has a totally different business model than I do, he doesn't have an eBay store, he's lucky to be grandfathered-in with '.com' in his user name. He specializes in high-end cards and has extremely high starting prices. He put nearly 7,000 listings up on 20 cent listing day, hardly any bids all week, but in the post-mortem (so far, have only studied his 2500 most expensive ($35-$750 - his highest sale was $149) listings), even at a 2% sell-through, he has done quite well. Maybe I can learn something and switch to fewer and better postcards. I still don't understand why he didn't have more than 12 cards in his web store. A lot of wasted advertising!

October was my best month ever and so far November is terrific, too. It's a blessing since both my daughter and I are out of work at the moment.

Hi Pixi

I also looked at his listings in wonderment. Very overpriced. But if you look into his listings he has very high end Real Photo cards. Depending on what he paid for them he either did well or lost his shirt. At 2% sell thru his listing fee per item sold is $10. Given the time envolved to list and upload 7000 auctions and sell only 140???. Hope he survived. To sell fewer high end items at fair higher prices makes sense much more sense to me. Chuck

Chuck, I agree. He has his cards priced for store but is listing them at auction. He still covered his 20 cent listing fees although rare RPPCs may best be sold through stores. Edited to add: I'm guessing he paid an average $10 per card.
