I shipped a single postcard in a flat envelope that I wanted to insure. I was told that the only way to do that was to ship express at over $20. Since I am most worried at non-delivery and not damage, I opted for the registered rate at $10.00. Is there a cheaper way of doing this?

I send things first class, you have to make the envelope a little fatter. Usually a padded envelope with a couple of pieces of Popcorn. Printed DC is .14 ins is 1.35 and first class is say .75 Hope this helps.. azcomebuy

There is no international "first class" mail. Perhaps you are thinking of letter post airmail? That service cannot be insured but can be registered. International mail that can be insured is parcel post airmail and global express.
