I have listed an expensive keyboard for a friend.
I have received a query from a person in Turkey, wishing to bid on it and pay with Paypal, but ship to North Carolina. (I guess someone there will ship it to him.)
Has anyone else done this sort of thing?
I don't see how I can be covered by Paypal's Seller Protection if I ship to someone else.

as long as you ship to confirmed address in Carolina, but then seller protection only works if he is not using a fraudulent card!
If you can get his IP address, you can see if he is in Nigeria or Turkey??

Suggest the bidder have their North Carolina "friend" pay for it by money order so you won't be out of pocket should anything go wrong. Bidder can paypal their friend the money and their friend send you money order. Ergo you're off the hook for any PayPal problems should the item never arrive in Turkey or be taxed at 200% on arrival, etc.

I just got my first Turkey inquiry last week, about shipping. Don't know if ebay is just starting up there, or if the scammers have found a new home.

It sold to a US buyer.... thank God!
I had emailed the person from Turkey and told them their friend in NC would have to buy and pay for the item. Then they could pay their friend and their friend could ship to Turkey. (If payment is made through Paypal, I can only ship to a confirmed address.) I must have scared them off...
