I am hoping that someone can help me. Just had a call from our son in Arizona, and he needs money sent immediatly. I live in Canada, and unfortunately, I don't have much in my Paypal account. We do have a US bank account here, and I want to make sure I don't send them a pending check. Can someone tell me the best way to do this so that I can get them the money right away please?

Glad it worked out!
After I posted, it dawned on me I made deposits directly to my son's account when he was in college and had an emergency. I deposited cash and asked the bank for immediate credit to his account.

Thanks Lucy, our son and his wife just moved to Arizona, and found jobs quickly, but have to wait to get their first paychecks, so things got very tight! I was so happy I could help tide them over until they get paid.

Glad you were able to find a solution, Amber. It's frustrating when our kids need out help and we are so far away.
It is for this very reason that I opened an account, a number of years ago, with our daughter (a single mom with three boys) in a nation-wide bank. No matter where she is I can transfer funds to her in an emergency, and there have been a few. Out of seven kids, however, she is the only one who has this privilege -- simply because she pays the loans back right away. All she has to do to repay the loan is place the funds in our joint account and I transfer it right back into my account. Works great!
