I thought ebay archived after 90 days and yet I was searching for an item I sold using Vendio Post Sale and clicked on the ebay link before I realized that it was OVER a year old!! Talk about site clutter!!

That's much of what I was speaking about earlier this spring. Just haven't found out the time frame yet. Clearly it's over a year.

Hello,

I think what they mean is that the advanced search functions will no longer search through listings that happen to be older than 90 days - however if you bookmarked the ad or use a third party to list your items, you can still find them hidden on the website.

Christopher

Christopher said it all. If you know the item # or bookmarked the auction, you can pull it up for a long, long time. I do that when I want to do some relists from a while back. They are not "still showing" because no one can retreive them unless they know the # or bookmarked them. They do not show up in completed searches.

Old auction listings stay on eBay until they are archived and deleted (it's a typical cron job). Takes between 90 days and a few years depending on which server the auction listing is on. Now if that server "fails" or goes "offline" during a scheduled archive then the auction listing might remain online for a very, very long time. You can sometimes still leave feedback on past auctions for a long time afterwards (but there's a secret to it)...
