I tried to list an item on ebay, and I got a message that occasionally ebay sets limits on how many items a seller can have on, so denied my listing. What is this? I've never seen it before!

No, I was only listing one item. It had sold so I used the "similar item" tab in my ebay and at what should be the confirmation screen, it came up it was denied.

I think there is a limit of 10 of the same item per id or something like that. The number includes core and store listings. Someone will come along with the exact number.

Hmm,
that can't be it, I only had 2 listed. Ever.
I emailed ebay to see what is going on, I'll let you know what they reply. If they do.

That must be it, even though I've only listed 2 of this particular item. Brand name, and I have listed 5 other items with the same brand name so that totals 7.
I relisted taking out the brand name, and that went through. Any hints how to put the brand name in off the "radar"?
It likely won't sell without the name on the listing, the name is on the box in the picture but I doubt anyone will be able to find it.
So basically ebay is saying don't bother buying a lot of any brand name items, even though these are 16 years old.. jeesh. I'll have to wait, I suppose, and put a few on here and there, though the holiday season is when they sell.

Have you tried not putting brand name in the header, but just in the description in bold letters. dont know if that will help.

"Once you have it listed try to revise it and change the title to put in the name brand."
Tried that, and it would not go through, the same denied message popped up.
"Try not using "sell similar items".
Ebay very obviously allows BIG sellers to sell as many of the same items as they want."
I started one from scratch, same denied message. It was the brand name word that did it.
This particular brand name is not even a part of VERO, so I have no clue what the problem is. Here is the canned response I got from ebay:
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the restriction that is on your
account.
In order to maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are
occasionally placed on accounts. A restriction was placed on your
account to limit you from selling certain items.
Please keep in mind, you are not permitted to sell items on eBay bearing
the name or logo of a company if the product has not been made or
authorized by that company. In addition, the sale of counterfeit items,
unauthorized replicas and unauthorized copies is prohibited by law, and
therefore cannot be listed on eBay. Please note that it is the seller’s
responsibility to ensure that the items you are listing are authorized
for sale.
This policy also helps protect buyers from purchasing counterfeit or
fraudulent items and helps protect the intellectual property rights of
third parties.
As always, our goal is to keep the eBay marketplace a safe place to buy
and sell. Under our User Agreement, we may remove listings if they
breach one of our stated policies. Further, we may warn or suspend
sellers whose activities breach our policies.
I encourage you to read the information available on our Help pages
about why we may remove items from the eBay site.
So, here is my response, not that it will do any good.
Hello Jarren,
The items are indeed original (took out brand name). They are 15-16 years old, 1990 and 1991. They are signed on the back (took out name again). I do not see the problem here. As a long time seller, I do follow the rules and abide by them. Please remove the restriction so I may continue selling these. Thank you.
