15 cent. Not 10 cent. Not free.

Every year, it just gets worse and worse.

Do you guys realize the Google has not only been offering merchants free payments for an indefinite amount of time, but actually gave buyers $10 towards their first purchase throughout the Christmas season? I sold a TON of stuff throught them- they were literally BUYING customers for me, and not charging ANY comission for it.

What's eBay done for us lately?

I posted to other thread about google base but did do a test post I guess listed one thing. I need to read up more before I list more things I better find out if there are fees etc for any of it. Did not sign up for adwords figured I didn't need that cost for my stuff. I understand there is charges for that for sure.

My auction service uploads my inventory to Google for me, so I'm not sure how to do it manually anymore.

The $10 for first-time buyers special ended today, so that's done.

No, there are NO fees. You do have to send them some financial information in order to use their payment service. But there are no listing fees and no final value fees.

They're building the business, and they need the merchants right now. They WILL charge FVF's at some point in the future, but they promise it won't be until Spring at the earliest.

At least it's down from the 20 cents that they were charging for the past year or so on promotion dates.

You're right...

It was FREE, 5 cents, then 10, and now 15.

And every time they go up, they seem to follow it with a hike on their listing fees.

Expect one in the near future.

I don't see how ebay can raise fees at this time - I just read somewhere that profits were down 25%. Not a good time to raise fee and drop more sellers.
Maybe this is the time that ebay finally realizes that sellers pay the bills. A better idea would be to lower fees. But I won't hold my breath.

I didn't get to list anything. My computer bit the dirt and I had to buy another one, so I'm just now getting back on. I lost my job and waiting to get another one, so I will be working on auctions in the mean time. I also will get to get my sewing caught up.

Why is everyone saying eBay raised fees? Christmas listing last year was .20 cents. Did they raise something else?

I don't think the listing day after Christmas last year was $.20. They just started the .20 in July, wasn't it?

No it wasn't. It was 10 cents. The other promotions run this year since last Christmas were 20 cents.

I thought the .20 cent listings started before Christmas last year. I still saved over $300.00 on the items I listed yesterday. Seems like a good deal to me.

I would rather see it be up to this than be free again. It was a mess of junk back then that no one wanted to wade through to find the good stuff.

Hi...It’s Bill Corn Cobb here to share a little extra holiday cheer with you. Our new friends and partners at Skype have offered to sponsor a listing promotion for eBay members. So tomorrow, as a gift from Skype to you, we’re running a one-day promotion on www.ebay.com and www.ebay.ca during which insertion fees for auction-style and Fixed Price listings will be just 10 cents. (eBay Motors Parts & Accessories are also included. Click here for more details.)
Of course, you don’t have to use Skype to participate in this promotion. But if you haven’t tried it yet, I encourage you to get a free download. Try it with your friends and family to stay in touch over the holidays.

On behalf of everyone at eBay, we hope you’re having a safe, joyous holiday season and we wish you a Happy New Year.

Sincerely,

Bill Corn Cobb

20¢ Auction-Style and Fixed Price Listing Day Tomorrow, June 8th

So June 8th of last year was the fee hike to 20 cents on the special listing days. The 15 cent days are more than last Christmas but cheaper than over the summer. Still a slap in the face if you ask me.
