Well, so much for the closed item searches. I could only find my closed listings on eBay back to 12/26 - that's 14 days. Nothing before that shows up. Anyone else? Looks like they will be pushing for that Market Research thing you have to pay for to search closed listings.......more fees......less service.....

All of them are still on Vendio, in case that would help. . . .

Well, what got me started was looking to find some pricing on some items I'm going to list. I was searching closed listings and it seemed like there wasn't much there - I didn't think my items were that rare either........then I noted the dates of the closed items and they were all within a few days to a week or so.......so I went to check my closed listings to see how far back I could find them.......and the farthest I could go was two weeks ago today.....I thought eBay's closed item search was supposed to be 30 days and wasn't it even longer in days gone by? I think they are going to eventually not have closed search available at all unless you opt in and pay for "market research"......just my opinion........

If you know the item # you can go much further back. I just looked up an item that closed on 11/5 and it was still there, picture and all.
Also, if you have it on your "watch" list you can go back a long way.

eBay's Completed listings search results used to go back 31 days, but have been progressively cut back to 14 days or so. It varies slightly by eBay category, site and server farm.
Fortunately Google is a fantastic resource and you can find closing eBay prices going back many months or years in Google's cache of eBay listings. Another method is to find a seller that carries the same item you plan to list, and then check their incoming feedback for links to recent sale prices. You can automate such price searches using a simple script or 'link spider' tool. We use a custom tool to monitor the closing prices of all our major competitors and keep abreast of market trends.
